Yes, yes she was.

Pretty easy to grow too. I had her in a 1 1/2" starter cube and was top feeding her.
I'm going to build a bubble tote and have 6 to 8 spots for luttuce.

Thanks and Cheers,

My lettuce-op is an under-current. A bubbler would work great too. Are you gonna use a raft system?

Edit: I highly recommend cfl lighting for lettuce. The picture shows a 200w 6500k. It keeps the leaves very tender. People often compare my kale to baby spinach.

Sweet looking setup!

I planted that one seed to see if it would germ. I put it in rockwool soaked in I beleive it was 1/2 strength grow nutes (Dyna-Gro)
1st week was under T5HO and two 125w cfl's. The next 2 weeks were under a 400WMH and then..... well I didn't have my veg tent up yet so, they ended up getting a couple of weeks under the 600wHPS.

I know nothing about how to grow lettuce properly............ It was about 8" tall when I cut her down

Cheers,

But back to the subject at hand, i love flood n drain. I've tried virtually every other method and i always come back to flood n drain. As long as you get the feeding schedule right the results/reliability are as good as anything else out there.

I use straight hydroton, low-strength nutes.

Cheers!

I'm growing some mandala freebies right now. So far so good, VERY sturdy and vigorous in veg. They are only at week 3 or 4 in flower, too early to call it either way with them.

I got 2 new bulbs, I'll use the older (few months) bulbs for backup.
New bulbs} Digilux 400w MH and Digilux 600w HPS
Old bulbs} Sylvania 400w MH and Eiko 600w HPS

The tent is running cooler by about 4* F................ I like to say, it's because of the new light but, I did get the glass to fit better on the air cooled reflector......... just saying.
Humidity during the lights off cycle today was between 48 and 58 % RH

Congrats,

I first ordered the Digilux 600 from G*****S.COM. They never even told me it was a backorder/special order item. I waited their up to 10 day shipping policy and emailed them. They said, it should be in with their other bulbs, early the next week. At the 3 week mark I asked for my money back and ordered them (400 & 600) from MonsterGardens....... they were $4 more and shipping was $7 more but, they were here in 4 days.

I love the box they come in, too.

Cheers,

I decided between www.plantlightinghydroponics.com and www.bghydro.com. BGHydro had them in stock (13) and was about $0.70 less after shipping but I have a bad history with that company. I try not to support them when I can avoid it.

PLH usually dispatches my packages the same day I place the order. This particular time was no different. Package was dispatched today to UPS and tracking has it arriving sometime next Thursday (4 business days). I have used this website for many purchases and I am always pleased at the discreet method they use (Alladin's Lighting) when billing and shipping. I haven't ever had to contact CS to track a package, or update a status, or inquire about inventory. I suggest you consider them in your future purchases.

My bulb, after shipping, was like $73.

Well, I decided to not order any seeds from Attitude's birthday promo....... they didn't have what I wanted anyway. I really wanted the Mandala "point of no return" seeds. Mandala has some in stock, but none of their vendors do, and Mandala doesn't ship here.

I did however order Nirvana's weekend whooper deal.
Raspberry Couch (fem - 5 seeds) and Ice (fem - 5 seeds)
23.58 euros for the seeds, plus 8 euros for shipping & handling, equals 31.58 euros ($44.23)

Cheers,

I read something about pH and decided to check for myself. (cold water has a lower ppm then hot water (due to the hot water tank))
My readings:
Tap water (cold) = ppm 124
Tap water (hot) = ppm 210

Why would a RIU member tell someone to not worry about pH? They went on to say that, "they have never checked their pH and are growing the best bud ever".

NOTE TO SELF: control the canopy height next time. (better plant selections or by topping)?

People give bad advice around here all the time so it's no surprise that someone said 'don't worry about pH'. Unless they were talking about soil, it's possible their soil and tap water buffers their nutes into a perfect range. Also, you always want to look where your advice is coming from. Ask to see their plants if they don't have a grow journal. Bold statements like that usually have shitty pics that follow ;).

I'm still learning (noob) and didn't feel I could argue the point with him. He said he was using a bubbler, but quoted another grower here, who uses soil.

Oh well, I'll try not to be one of those guys :)

When I checked the pH today........... it had gone up 1.2 overnight.............. I started to pH down and thought I should calibrate my pH meter
I placed the pH7.0 control solution in a glass and took a reading............. meter read 8.2.......... oops........ :)

All is right with world now :)

I've found DG to be incredibly stable with tap water and RO. So if you have some pH swings, check your feeding levels, or your meter in this case ;). But I love your feeding levels right now, you're set up for success.

Thanks for checking up on me.
Yeah, I knew from watching your "D-G vs GH (Dumpster grow)" that DG is very stable. Using tap water, I might get a change(up) in pH the day after a res change, but after that it stays pretty stable.

My plants are looking pretty good......... the 2 small White Widows(WW) and the Blueberry Gum are green everywhere and look very happy. The large WW has some leaves turning yellow. The lone little LSD has yellow tips. Both of those have some really nice looking buds and seem to be happy also.

I know I'm very happy with the way they are looking.

Thanks again for your help and guidance,

P.S.
This last res change, I used only cold tap water. After mixing all the nutes, the ppm was about 80ppm less then when I was using a hot/cold mix.
Hey homebrewer, your avatar, is that Chuck from the Incubus albums?
