Getting my mojo back!

My veg area

3 plants out of the bunch are looking like they might be male so I’m watching like a hawk for sex

The Querkle is obviously female, my Querkle x Vanilla Tart is starting to show sex, the Holy Roller Haze is not far behind my pollen chucked cross, and SETI is far from showing sex at the moment image.jpg

More males removed so I’m left with a Querkle female cutting, the Holy Roller Haze seedling, which looks like a girl but not confirmed yet and 5 SETI seedlings, which haven’t shown sex yet as they are young

I transplanted the SETI last night into 1 gallon pots, so they are only a few days behind the Querkle cutting
I think I may flower them in 5 gallon pots instead of the usual 7s like other strains as I don’t want the stretch to get outta hand

plus I will probably top them soon and start training to prevent some monsters in my environment as I know I once had a Chernobyl seedling tower over my head pushing 6 and a half feet indoors after stretch haha

Querkle cutting and SETI are coming along nicely so far and the Holy Roller Haze is looking female too I just wish she wasn’t quite so far ahead the SETI but it’s okay I’ll make it work and the lights just flipped on plants still looking sleepy a bit haha

SETI #1-5 seedlings and Querkle #4 first generation clone just transplanted in 5 gallon fabric pots, and Holy Roller Haze #1 seedling in my usual 7 gallon nursery pot as of last week, and a lineup of 12 Querkle #4 first generation cuttings just transplanted from being started in rapid rooters to solo cups for now until they get more roots then they’ll go in one gallons or so.. I may hook a couple buddies up with these extra cuts or do an experiment with them if I have room myself.

3/5 SETI looking male so far, but we’ll see I’ll keep an eye on them like a hawk

Got a Holy Roller Haze female, a SETI female, and several Querkle female clones.

So I edited a picture circled my confirmed girls in red, and what look to be male in blue, with one I didn’t circle that hasn’t shown it’s sex yet…

3 Querkle first generation clones replaced male seedlings
1 Holy Roller Haze seedling
1 SETI seedling

Gonna flip soon just need the Querkle cuttings to get a lil bigger

the other 12 cuts of Querkle I had are going to a buddy who wants to start a SOG style grow under a 1k HPS I’m excited to see how Querkle performs in different gardensimage.jpgAA9CAB3C-4EAF-4AA9-9125-30A72BF1EEEF.jpeg

Plants are happy, and they should be flipped soon I just wish my canopy was nice and even but this run was an experiment to see if I can flower in 5 gallons and not run outta gas so to speak

and also it will minimize stretch on some strains, especially for test plants that I can always run again as clones in bigger pots and I really thought I’d have less males than I did but it’s all good regular seeds are the way to go for me

I gotta start my first pack of testers that I received two days ago from Norstar Genetics, the strain is Humboldt Fog (UK Cheese x W.C.S.D.)

I only have 8 ft ceilings minus the few feet I need to hang my lights above the canopy so I can only grow plants to my chest height and I’m a mere 5’7” tall so that is only 4’ to 4 1/2’ at finish if I let them get as big as I can like the Holy Roller Haze female I have in there

Healthy and spot on.
I got Dark Desire x wcsd.
Super excited!

So I am watering every other day with dechlorinated water as they are in Super Soil

The SETI seedling and the biggest Querkle clone are starting to look a bit hungry for N as they push through the stretch phase

I think I overvegged those two slightly as the other clones were much smaller and needed time to catch up so it would make sense if they depleted the N in the Super Soil

Each 5 gallon fabric pot is taking about a 1/2 gallon of water before I see minimal runoff

I won’t be surprised if I have to feed those two plants so it won’t be 100% water only but what can you do when the girls are hungry they need to eat

ppfd is from 1000-1300 depending upon where I measure right at the canopy level using the Photone app

C02 is coming back soon I just need to pay a visit to the hydro store ASAP

I would rather supplement with compost teas and top dressing vs nutes but the nute route is slightly easier and allows me to feed individual plants with a little more control over each one than if I topdress all of them with a similar mix

I have to run my dehumidifier nearly 24/7 to keep it around 45% but especially at night to avoid a humidity spike up to even 60% as where I live is incredibly humid all year round

Temperature gets to about 85 mid day but never goes lower than maybe 77 at night

Can’t wait to start my testers!

new veg area is going back up soon and I’ll pop them ASAP

I have Mendo Margarita ( Old Mendo Haze x Salted Afgoo) and Humboldt Fog ( UK cheese x WCSD)

I will document the test run on here as well as fill out provided grow reports for Norstar Genetics and take good pictures with a real camera I’m gonna buy soon like a Nikon or similar and not use my iPhones crappy camera

So I fed the biggest Querkle clone and the SETI seedling some nutes to combat low N and both are starting to smell really good

Querkle has a perfumey floral grape intoxicating smell while the SETI is smelling like OG kush predominately mixed with a fruit funk

All the smaller Querkle cuttings did better than I thought and caught up to the canopy height of the bigger Querkle cutting and the SETI seedling that I vegged for a bit too long so I can keep my lights hung at a similar height and don’t need to supercrop to manage my tallest branches like the past when I’ve ran multiple strains at once

Thinking to replace my swinging door to my walk-in closet to save space and get in and out easier as well, I was leaning towards stapling panda film to my door frame and use an adhesive zipper to access the space and keep it light proof…

Hydrofarm also has these zipper doors you can buy that attach directly to the door frame only problem with those is they are huge about 57 and 1/2” w by 96” h so I don’t know if they can be modified to fit a smaller door frame like my pretty small closet door which is only 24” w x 80” h sadly…

any ideas or suggestions are welcome, the bottom line is I need easy access that doesn’t take away from the floor space like a swinging door does, and I need it lightproof (unlike my swinging door is) and mostly airtight to keep in heat, moisture, and c02 but I know the panda film won’t be 100% air tight etc…

My current door is in the picture, and I added weather stripping to keep it more light and air tight, but I hate how much space the swinging motion takes up, and if I’m able to I want to squeeze in a few more plants where the door used to swing open if I can replace this old door properly!image.jpg

That’s how I have it, staple panda film to the door frame with a zipper in the middle. Over time and wear and tear, needs replaced maybe once a year. Easy peasy.

Querkle day 35 ish getting hungry for N but at this point I might be good as the girls didn’t run out of gas till now I probably just overvegged them a bit while sexing other seedlings which depletes the super soil of N sadly, but next time I know to flip the rooted mature clones sooner rather than wait for immature seedlings to show sex to flip all plants at the same time B04BE646-2C96-4701-BC33-5A080B02AF2E.jpeg

Today is day 42, getting kinda close as I usually harvest my Querkle pheno around day 53-56

The SETI looks as though it’ll go about 56-63 days but I could be wrong with my estimate as I never ran SETI, Apollo 13, or Jesus OG

The smells are getting stronger, Querkle’s smell being grape dominant primarily with some other fruit undertones from the SQ lineage; while the SETI is definitely a mix of fruity funk from Apollo 13 mom to a lemon gas og kush type smell from the Jesus OG dad.

Super soil always fades fan leaves into multicolored beauties around this time in the plants life, like week 6-7 out of 8 weeks or week 7-8 out of 9 weeks

Don’t be afraid of the fade !

I will take a bud shot or two as time allows later today
