Are you using an HID also? or just cfls?
Regardless, I don't think cfls use much energy at all....think they are pretty energy efficient.
It depends on space and what your current lumens/sq ft is, also they can be used to help supplement your spectrum... ie. using blue or cool cfl's (6000+ K) while running a HPS or daylight (2700k) CFL's when running your MH
The only thing I have heard is that if you are already in flower to NOT add lights as it can stress the plant out as it thinks the days are getting shorter and the light should be growing less intense. So if you throw in a bunch of CFLs it might stress the plant
