Going from HPS to LED. Worth it?

Yup, the more electricity it uses the more heat it causes and light, just like any light source....light is radiant energy....
Do you seriously not know the difference between incandescence and electroluminescence? Because this seems to be what you're failing to understand when I say COB produces heat secondarily, whereas HPS utilizes heat purposefully.

That means a lot coming from a xenophobic racist trump supporter.
Now you're taking this conversation ad hominem? Nice. I thought this was an intelligent conversation, but if you're going to degrade it to something childish, I don't think there's anything left to discuss anyway.

read that guys posts in the political section than you decide for yourself if you want to be buddies with a racist trump supporter. Bet he denies the holocaust happened and that Obama is from kenya.

I just proved you wrong. I just highlighted where it states it uses heat to create light. COBs produce heat secondarily. HIDs produce heat as part of its standard operation.
Again stop your a idiot all power sources create heat what are people running cobs @ 52 percent efficiency ??? what is the other 48 percent ??? Heat idiot HEAT the more efficient you run a cob the less heat it will produce plain n simple does not mean your going to get better Yields far from it there kiddo
people running cobs to efficient suffer penetration power so the COB law is 52 percent efficient

If you look at vero's the more you drive them as in power the better efficiency you get and better penetration because of power

this is why you do not see huge tree Cob grows because they cannot penetrate you can have all the par you want but if you lose it 12" away then what fucking good is it right ??
Go look at some Cob grows there there sog grows and for good reason not Tree grows like you see with DE units etc
when you see most cob grows what are you really seeing tight compact plants like if they were grown with T5's

No you see at best stretched plants wirey plants then they show buds beside fucking lighters .

you do not see many grows where they use strains that grow Donkey diks but small nug og strain

lets be serious here, Yes every light system has its benefits and negatives find out which ones work for you

With Cobs its never talked about as in what it does but what its capable of
its like saying guess what i am capable of becoming the next president does not mean i am going to be

That's not what we're discussing right now, though. And what we're discussing, we could discuss a lot more easily if you weren't being such an arrogant, condescending asshole. And that's not me calling you a name, that is me expressing what I have perceived from your interactions with people, myself included. Y'know, even if I was wrong, you could explain to me what factors I'm overlooking instead of talking shit like you're in high school. I don't agree with what his views might be, but I'm sick of your shit, man. I'm sick of everyone here striking each other down instead of helping each other up.

All goes back to the law of inverse squares , cobs lack initial value so penetration is much less, a single point light source with a big initial value will be able to be placed higher than multiple sources with a lesser value, it's just physics :)

feels like to be there both supporting each other. one seems to be a retired soldier, if its true. You know those kind of people, completely white washed. tried to put my opinion in, and get told i speak nonsense.

about a pound and a half dry ??? here 1000 watt DE 6 pounds 2 week veg 2.75 GPW

As for LED Nope View attachment 3821050
Thumps up to you, brother! Those look nice. was that a sog

3 grows with 400w cxb3590, only the first one turned out ok. had issues within this grow which resulted in loss of yield and density... had some hps grown bud, grown right, dried right and is A grade..

Final current grow, using same setup but going to pump it to 600w and it going to have no issues at all! DWC because i love my DWCs. If these buds don't hurt someone when I peg it at there heads, then it ain't going to cut it.

You are crazy if you think COBs can't penetrate, and you are basing that idea on literally nothing.

THANK YOU! PENETRATION.. my 400w cxb aint cutting it now i got to up it to 600. dont tell me to scrog my plants!

lol I was gonna tell you to scrog :) I scrog my leds , found out they yield a lot more like this about 2 years ago, they lack the penetration but if you can fill out a screen you can get the weight.

When was the last time you fools used LEDs? When 3 watt diodes were the new thing? If Yoda's saying 4 years, I have a feeling his experience has been with panels or old COBs. I could be wrong, though.

Its not if its you are wrong think about it people are getting same Yields with a 315 CMH compared to a 600 hid

Cobs at best come close to a 600 that is 400 watts drop that down to 300 watts and see where your at not even close
And at the end of the day i really do not see any huge differences in growth rates , or yields to turn me away from De units

And for the price of one 400 watt cob unit and the yield it will produce , i will gladly spend that money on 2 DE units and harvest 8 pounds rather then a pound if your lucky :)
and lets not forget you better throw in some lizard lights while your at it for UV lol WTF
