high!
i made a decent sized batch of QWISO & thought i'd share my method.
I picked up some new stuff at the restaurant supply store, in hopes to make the process a little neater and faster. It's a great place to find stuff for DIY growing supplies.
anyway here's some pics of the gear i used and a short video.
fine mesh strainer.. i chose a deeper one this time. This way you can stir the material around in there and not get ISO covered trim all over the place
Commercial sized coffee filters and holder
13 x 9 x 2 pyrex dish.. i used 4 bottles of ISO and 4 32 oz mason jars worth of trim and it filled the pan about 1/2 way. I should have used something larger.. more surface area = faster evaporation
91% or higher ISO alcohol. Make sure the inactive ingredient is water and nothing else. Also you need a really well vented room and no open flames anywhere near the ISO
WEED! i use bud and sticky leaves.. stems and fan leaves get buried in the woods or thrown in the fireplace
after 1st straining we end up with a nice honey color.. The longer you wash the darker your mix will be.. resulting in a higher yield and a lower quality.
I made a stand by cutting the bottom off of the plastic cup. I hate standing there holding shit.. it takes away from valuable bong hit time
Final resting spot.. in a well ventilated room, on a seedling mat (optional). I also put a dehumidifier in there because it's crazy humid up here this time of year.
The final flush lol.. i don't run it twice, but you can if you like.. i'm sure there's a few trichomes still kicking around in there
a few tips
1. make sure you have all of your gear ready to go and within reach. You don't want to be scrambling around looking for shit while your weed is soaking in the ISO, an extra 10 seconds could ruin your batch
2. again make sure it's well ventilated and don't smoke while your making it, or in the room where the ISO is evaporating (i know y'all know this, but there's always some fool lurking around)
3. feel free to shake and stir the trim around while it's sitting in the strainer draining into the filter. shake it till all of the ISO stops dripping out. I shoulda put that in the vid
here's a vid explaining the process. I'll post pics of the different stages of the final product when it's done. excuse the northahn accent

i took it off the heat mat and i'll let it dry in the pan in near the AC overnight. I like scraping it off the pan when it's dry and crumbly, this way i can shape it and store it easily. That's just my personal preference, there's no right or wrong time to do it.
one tip: when you think all the alcohol has been evaporated.. wait overnight and scrape it then. Better to be safe with this shit.. i had one batch smell like ISO everytime i broke the ball in 1/2, you really don't wanna be breathing that shit in
24 hours later:
I scraped it all up it came out to 9 grams, not quite the 14 i estimated but still a shit ton of hash for me.. it doesn't take much lol.
I'm gonna let it sit and dry a few more days.. just a personal preference, it's totally ready to smoke anytime. I just dig it a little on the dry side so i can beak pieces off without getting my fingers coated in oil.
the pan all dried up.
these 50 cent blade holders are pretty handy for scraping.
it looks pretty funky after scraping
i put it on parchment paper, fold it up and work it around with my fingers till it's all mixed up and uniform.. the heat from your fingers will kind of re-melt it a little. Flatten it out and let it dry to your liking.
I made a "goo-ball!!" not shre what y'all call them.. but it's sour diesel, covered in hash & dusted with kief.. think i'll get high? lol

here it is after about 7 days of "drying"
Here's a different batch that came out really nice
