everything in the yard is pretty much dead lol even under shade cloth the wind heat alone just cooks them
I saw on the news that the average high for the whole country one day last week was 107F. We had a week in the high 90's late in summer, and it cooked everything I had in pots. I can't imagine 107.

Northern Kentucky caught just over 1-inch of rain yesterday and 3.5-inches of rain for December. Today the rain is gone, replaced by gusty winds. Expecting a mostly cloudy day here, high 50s this afternoon

It was a little cooler today with gusty winds. Our high was only 71F. At 1740 it's clear, 60F with 63% humidity. Forecast low of 41F with 0% chance of rain tonight, tomorrow or tomorrow night. 10 day high low of 73/36F with 2 days of possible rain.

I'm off all week, so you guys have a happy new year.

Happy New Year... still in Kentucky for another few days. Woke up to 35°F this morning and some sun. Looks like snow Friday and rain through the weekend.

January 2nd, the calm before the storm. It is 36°F this morning, cloudy and rain likely this afternoon into the evening. Seems like we are warming enough that no snow will form. We will see.

I slept down at the pond camp. There was fog over the pond, and a big white frost this morning. Low of 36F, but it warmed up in a hurry, with lots of sun. We got up to 71F this afternoon. At 1950 it's clear, 54F with 76% humidity. Forecast low of 44F with 10% chance or rain tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night. 10 day high low of 78/34F with 5 days of possible rain.

Back in DC now and things are really heating up for this afternoon's snow storm! It is 28°F this morning with the storm rolling in right around lunch time. Expecting 1-3 inches before the rush the hour commute finishes this evening. Should be fun.

It snowed. In theory we got 3-inches but much was melting as it hit. Just enough left to become a crunchy ice mess the morning after. It's 33°F this morning. Expecting gusty winds this aftnoon into the 40mph range. Should be fun.

We've had several nice cool days with cold {for me} nights. Earlier in the week there was enough frost to kill the new tomato sprouts I didn't have room for under glass. But today's high low was 72/42F. At 1640 it's partly cloudy, 68F with 55% humidity. Forecast low of 57F with 10% chance of rain tonight, 20% tomorrow and 20% tomorrow night. 10 day high low of 79/53F with 6 days of possible rain.

There is supposed to be bad storms passing Saturday, with the worse of it is off to our west. Not much rain expected, but the chance of tornadoes. Anytime it's near 80F in January you can look for bad storms.
