some kid robbed my shed and took my work tools $1500 worth, the tools wer'nt insured and i did'nt call the cops any way i was really pissed
anyway 3 months later i had forgoten about the robbery
i was in my house one night theres a knock at the door cop at the door asked me if i had my shed robbed
i said yes
turns out the cops caught the kid robbing someone else and he told them about all the other sheds he robbed
so i said to the cop will i get my tools back he said no
i said will i get some compensation no he said
at this point i was really really pissed off
so i said to the cop why the fuck are you telling me its like rubbing salt in the wounds
if anyone else tells you the've robbed me and i ha'vnt reported it do'nt knock on my fuckin door and slammed the door in his face
i am still pissed off when i think of that cop i've forgotten about the tools

probably has no grounds for a civil suit seeing as how he never filed a complaint. I dunno i suppose you could subpoena the cop to verify your story. but he wont show and lord knows wont be found in contempt. any ways that sux. ida asked who it was that stole your stuff and went and found that lil fucker.

That is exactly why I make damn sure that everyone in my neighborhood knows I have many guns. I like to sit on the front porch and clean my guns. I also have a sign on the front fence stating " This house protected by Smith and Wesson" People look at me like
I am some crazy ass redneck......which I am

if you go to the police station and request a report of the officer questioning you then they would have to give it to you. All of their paperwork, unless detrimental to the victims or the case must be accessible to the public...whoever said that you wouldnt have grounds to sue him civilly is full of shit...im a 3rd year law student...you have plenty of reason!

if i had taken it further i could have sued him it wasnt worth the hassle
the cop would'nt tell me his name cos he knew i would bust his head i think he was more worried about the kid gettin hurt than me gettin in trouble
robbing someones tools is pretty low its like stealing a mans living

There was a guy like that in my neighborhood when I was a kid.

Every weekend he would make a big show of cleaning his weapons and sharpening his knives on his front porch. He had two dobermans; one old and one young.

My dad said he was crazy fucked up from the Korean War and to stay away from his property.

The man had his boundaries. It worked. As far as I knew, nobody fucked with him.

We moved away eventually. Later on I heard he offed himself.

Posting signs & brandishing firearms in public is not advised. It makes it harder for your lawyer to use the poor scared citizen defence. You look like you invited trouble.

They'll know I'm armed when they hear the safety, click, BOOM!

Don't draw your weapon unless you plan to pull the trigger! And if you do draw it, be sure you do pull! Don't play!

I've carried a gun for 25 years & no one has ever seen my gun. That's how it's done. This way, I WILL have it, when I do finally need it.

Peace

Look on the bright side. You now know the thief was caught. Nothing worse than thinking he's coming back tonite, or tomorrow, or the next day, so, it never ends. At least you know who it is also. If not, I'd find out.

i have a sign on my front door that says "fuck the dog ... beware of owner" with a picture of a revolver on it

if someone crosses the threshold of my house that I didn't invite and i am ANYWHERE near my pistol ... i will not hesitate to pull the trigger

and I would be far from "inviting trouble"

if someone is stupid enough to trespass on the property of someone who openly "brandishes" his firearms, then that person is stupid enough to get shot ...

but then again I don't even consider that brandishing ... it's fair warning to me

Where in the hell am I?

Fairly certain that wen ya confess to committing a crime there is gonna be somethin other than a cop to verify it fer ya. Like arrest reports, etc
