So I picked up some GDP clones from my cloner a few months back and started growing them. I took down the first one and set it out to dry last week and took it off of the stems yesterday and put it into jars to cure.
Now the problem arises when I look at my GDP and at the other GDP we have in the shop. The other GDP has a slight floral smell to it and looks dead ringer to all the articles. This is what I am assuming that true GDP is like. I've had it come in a few times and it all was pretty similar.
My GDP looks dead ringer to the plant that I have been looking at around the net, but the smell is completely different. When the plant was finishing it smelled like Cherries and flowers, when I took it down it smelled like Cherries with a hint of fuel, and when it was finished drying it had a straight danky fuel smell with a slight hint of cherries.
I was just wondering for those of you who have grown each strain or both, if you had any knowledge or insight that might help me. I don't want to call my strain GDP if it is not GDP, and I have a sneaking suspicion it might not be. And even if it is not GDP, I still am keeping it because it is a truly magnificent plant, I just want to know if I should call it GDP, PK, or make up something, lol.
Thank you to all of those who help, and to HELL with all those who don't! Lol!
