Grow Checklist.. What am I missing? Need Bulk Substrate Suggestion

misting actually does several things that make people believe it is more necessary then it is.

it incidentally exposes the grow to light. Evaporation brings the temperature down. Co2 is displaced.

but don't worry about all that. A light misting or two will help if your chamber is not properly humidified, it will keep your casing wet, hopefully to field capacity.

remember that evaporation will occur even in 100 percent humidity.

now, if you are not casing and your substrate is overlayed, misting will not do you much good. The mycelium will not directly absorb surface water.

so in that case your misting only serves to wet the walls of your chamber for a while.

if you are casing, you are best served misting gradually heavier after your first flush in anticipation of bringing your now moisture depleated casing back to field capacity just before your second set of pins. Same holds true for flush three. If you do not intend to immediately turn around and grow more then you can continue with further flushes. If you value your growing environment then you are done after 2 or at mist 3.

thank you so very much. think I have my son convinced that it is moisture we are lacking ~ there are bunches of baby mushrooms all underneath that are never gonna make it to the top. I cut out a portion last night- like a piece of pie & put it into another container. should I continue with this procedure. we are getting like one shrooms a day. thank you so very much not only for your response BUT in sharing your knowledge. I will pass on the info when my day comes. PeAcE only~

No...stop everything and hold up....
?You are cutting up your casing's??? Are you using a clean room with extremely sterile utensils?
Are you using them as spawn to fresh substrate?
Pretty much what is your full detailed plan of action...there are plenty of people willing to help here and F### shroomology you should've gone to shroomtalk, But that's another story

we tend to be a caring bunch here.
thank you~you are the one that helped me out last time & gave me directions. I did cut up the MATS & planted them outside because when I put them in new casing, they did nothing. well I had a couple of pins BUT they weren't growing any bigger..so I put them outside and am praying to the Big Shroom in the Sky..
but now I have NEW Mycelium & wanna try a new substrate or casing. I bought organic popcorn today which I have seen Sonny on Shrooms on YT but am tired of listening/watching YT....
Everyone basically has their own theories. Paul Stamets book SAID not to pasteurize because it makes contam easier. My son says no but I don't know. He thinks he knows BUT I bought him a kit. I am not buying more kits because I can't afford them. His was a Christmas present/ I have a shed where I can work; and a garage but neither are heated.
SO NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO W/MY new Mycelium? should I try the popcorn or stick to peat moss & verm?
I don't have a PC & can't afford one big enough for quart jars, I did try on amazon but it wasn't big enough.
Thanks. I have to cook dinner now but will be back in about an hour..
YOU are very sweet & I thank you
