[Grow Journal] First ever grow, using CFLs

Yesterday afternoon, I transplanted the three of my plants that were able to stand on their own into 6" pots using Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. While I was moving the shortest plant, I discovered that this plant did not have a short stem, as I had thought, but had it's stem buried horizontally underneath the soil. This was exactly the same problem that the staked plant have. The only difference is that a stem is not twisted on the transplanted plant. Will this partially buried stem cause a problem later?

The plants all looked a little droopy after being transplanted. The ph of the soil was approx. 7 and a small amount of water was added.

I also added a DIY CO2 bottle to the cabinet using a 2 Litter bottle (with a hole in the cap), active baking yeast and sugar. In addition to the DIY CO2, I also added 2 more 23W CFLs (6500K) to the cabinet which brings the total to 10 23W CFLs (6500K). I also have some 26W CFLs (2700K) that I plan on using for flowering. What do you guys think about replacing at least a couple of the 6500K CFLs with 2700K CFLs? It has been about 2 weeks since the seedling first broke the surface of the soil.

After having a night to adjust to their new homes, the kids all look a less droopy. Some of the leaves now have an orange/dark orange color. Could this be a nute def? I have the trio of Fox Farm nutes and right now I'm considering starting Grow Big this Thursday (3rd week). Any thoughts about using the nutes?

Damn bro! slow down a bit eh? lol. You have a great idea here. However, you don't have to run the lights for 24/7 until the plant reaches one foot tall. In fact, I would be against leaving the lights on a 24/7 schedule.. you should only leave your lights on the 24/7 schedule for the first 3-5 days. Then drop it down to 18/6 for about 2-5 weeks. Then hit your plants with 12/12.
Yeah there a bunch of different schedules that everyone has their own opinion on. Personally for seedlings I have 18/6 because shorter light periods increases the amount of females when the plants are still seedlings (according to george's marijuana horticulture book (i think) and a bunch of threads, etc.). For vegging I use 24/7 to for maximum growth (It has been proven that cannabis doesn't need a dark period for veg).
Just felt like sharing my personal preferences so the newbies (which I still am but still haha) reading could hear multiple opinions on the subject.

I LST'ed the tallest of the girls. She's 3 weeks old and 8" tall. Still no nutes, yet, just water with lemon juice to keep the pH below 7. The plan right now is to wait until 4 weeks old to start with 1/4 tsp/gallon Grow Big.

Reduced light to 8 26 w 6500K CFLs.

So far she's gotten 1 week of 24/0 and 2 weeks of 20/4, I plan on dropping to 18/6 for the last 2 weeks of vegging. (I'm going with a 5 week veg period. ) Then at least 8 weeks of 12/12.

Added some pics of my "girl" begore and after the LST. I think I see the beginnings of sex organs but I'd like others' opinion (pics included). Looks like the makings of hairs to me but this is my first grow so I'm not sure. Time will tell. I've named her "Lola" for the time being.

Hoping to get a thick bush :weed:

Can't tell sex yet. Those aren't sex organs.
They will form behind those (stipules?)
near the secondary growth. Shouldn't be long though.
If you want a bush, you should top, or supercrop.
8" is gonna get pretty tall once you go into 12/12. (Depending on the strain.)
This clone was vegged July 1- Aug 15th.
Topped twice, supercropped, and lsted.
It's 10" tall and growing horizontal.
Been in 12/12 for 7 days. It's in a 2 gallon pot.
It will not be transplanted.

I decided to start the "girls" on Grow Big (1/2 TSP per gallon of water) so on 8/23/2009 they got their first taste. If they need it, I'll water again tomorrow with plain water.

How do you plan on light-proofing the set up for flowering?
That's something I'm still debating. I think I'm going to build a 2nd cabinet and use it for flowering only. I want a perpetual grow and trying to get at least 4 oz a month.

4 weeks into vegging, I began using Grow Big (1/2 tsp per gallon of water) every other watering. I started this grow with 4 plants and now only have 2 that are still in the grow cabinet. The other 2 were removed for different reasons. I’ve named them Lola and Sweet Baby Jane as a hoped they were both female. After 6 weeks of vegging, I switched to 12/12 to begin flowering and 2 days into flowering I noticed milky white hairs on both of the plants. The hairs are more developed on Lola. Both of these ladies have had their newest growth tied down at least 3 times (LST) and are beginning to bush out nicely. This is my first grow but I am fairly certain that these hairs are the real deal. Below are pics 2 days into flowering. I can't get my camera to focus on what I believe are the hairs. The first and second pics are of Lola, the third and fourth of Sweet Baby Jane.

I'm in the process of building a cabinet dedicated strictly to flowering. The dimensions are 2" x 2" x 6" (LxWxH). Trying to get a constant grow going so I'll always have some smoke.
