Grow Tent Electrical Setup Question !

Hi all fellow grow tent rollers,

I am a newb seeking help on how to manage electricy in a soft walled grow tent!!

In this grow tent http://www.ebay.com/itm/36-x-36-x-78-3-x-3-Ft-100-Reflective-Mylar-Hydroponic-Indoor-Grow-Room-Tent-/230892239743?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35c23ffb7f

here's my setup:

6' carbon filter --->400w cooltube--->6' inline--->vent hole.
Passive or 6' comp fan intake (haven't decided yet) at the bottom.
Mount fan hovering at the canopy level and maybe one at ground level for some good turbulence.
soil.

I already ave an idea to set up my mount fans but how would you go about your electrical panel design ? I heard some people simply pass the cords trough the venting holes but I would prefer having everything concealed as much as possible. So My idea is to get the power in by 1 heavy duty extension via the lower vent hole and hang a wood panel down one side of my tent to witch i would fix my timer/powerstrip, hygro/thermometer.:dunce:

I basically need any kind of info on how to properly set this up ! as i have googled a lot and didn't find much
Any kind of experience, pics,and/or feedback on my idea would be very welcome :mrgreen:

Welcome to the show M8.

First thing is try not to feed the entire setup off of 1 breaker, if it trips, heartbreak ridge. You are better to have at least a couple of circuits to feed the area. If you do feed with just one breaker, make sure the wire size is correct between the larger feeder breaker and the sub panel in the grow area. ( if you want to use a 40amp main feeding a small sub panel with 2-3 20amp breakers in it, use #8awg wire for your main feeder run( not sure if you are gonna find an extension cord with #8awg wire( might have to go buy a length of SO type cord( it comes in many wire sizes, a bit expensive, but cheap compared to a house fire)

The venting you will have to play with so as not to risk blowing up or collapsing the tent, we can get into that after you get the power situation handled. Hollar if you need more help. Remember, Safety First.

i run all of my power cables out one of the small venting holes, i dont like the idea of having electrical connections inside a confined space where i splash water and the humidity can get high.
