Grow Tent Vent Setup

Hello everyone, I am a beginning grower looking to start as soon as possible. Currently just trying to price everything and get an idea of what my grow setup will be like. I am going to be looking for a new house to rent so I dont have any spikes in watt usage at my current house, in the new home I will be growing in a dedicated room with a grow tent. So I know what equipment I am going to use to set up my grow tent, I just need help on the ducting and ventilation part. I will be growing 10-15 indica plants (no more than 3' tall each) in a 5' x 5' x 6'11'' gorilla grow tent. I will be using a UL Listed 600w ReVolt Ballast with a 600w MH bulb (60k lumens, 5.2k color temp) during veg, and the same ballast with a 600w HPS bulb (89k lumens, 2.1k color temp) during flowering. Both lights will also be accompanied by a 6'' horizon titan air cooled reflector (26'' x 29''). (Both lights, ballast, and reflector come in a single kit on ebay). Within the tent will be 1 47'' tall circular oscillating fan and 1 35'' tall tower oscillating fan (each in an opposing corner). I will also be using a growbright 6'' tall boy inline fan & charcoal filter with my ducting. My question is, where do i vent my air to and from? I have read that venting out into an attic works well, however Im not sure where attics are typically located in a home. For example, my current attic entrance is located in the garage, are all arizona homes like this? If so, would a tent in the garage be ok? Also, what about venting air into the tent, is the air from the room it is in sufficient? Thanks for any help in advance

You will need to setup up your tent and light and get a max heat load.
My tent was 94 degrees with no ventilation.
I added a 6" inline bringing room air past the bulb and out, it can loop into an attic.
It can loop it any place that is not as warm, just not warmer.
Dog needs walking.

That would be a good place to start, thank you. However you say loop it into a place not as warm, being that attics are very insulated, wouldnt that make them unideal?

You can vent it into any room or outside as long as the temp in the room is lower than the air your venting. Me I have my 8 inch inline fan sitting in my bedroom with ducting comming from my tent in the bathroom. Putting the fan in the tent just creates more heat. I wouldn't recommend putting your tent in your garage too many temp variations and possibility of bugs and people wondering, hey, why does this guy have a big black tent looking thing in his garage with ducting runniing out of it and sometimes it looks as if it'sglowing.

So you're saying I can vent into any place whose temp is lower than the temp in my tent, correct? Considering I want to grow year round, that could be a little difficult since I'm in arizona and it gets hot as balls during the summer (half our year is summer). I'm really slow with this whole ventilating thing.. lol. So you have your inline fan in your room, which is sucking the air from your tent in the bathroom, into your room correct? So you have the removal of the stale air going on, what about new air, where is that coming from?

I use two fans and my tent is in an extra bedroom inside of air conditioning.
one fan( 6" inline 400 CFM) takes room air and passes it thru the light hood then out.
The second fan (4" inline 160 CFM) is blowing air out of the tent into the room, it draws air in thru a carbon filter hanging in the tent.
I have a passive air intake 4" duct
Both of my fans are in my tent, but I have my reservoir outside so I keep the res temp at 74 degrees.
I run my light ballast outside so it does not add to my temps.
My A/C runs a lot but my bill is OK because I have a good central A/C system.

79-81 degrees day
70-72 degrees night
58 RH

Ahhh okay, one inline isn't quite enough then? You use the larger to cool the light, and the smaller to actually move and deodorize the tent air. Do you have both placed at the top, or is the 4'' at the bottom? Not sure if the tent I'm looking at has enough ports to put both at the top. Also, I was going to do 10-15 plants because I figured I could increase yield that way, however, I just read yield can be based off wattage. .5g per watt being what I read. So in this case, is it better to have fewer plants and conserve seeds or just go nuts and grow them all?

And now I do believe I understand your vent system. You both release air from your tent into your room, and draw air from the room into the tent, using your home A/C to renew the air in the room.

Yep,
you want to create negative pressure and only pump out clean air.
the light and 6" fan are on top, so is my filter.
below my tray I have my 4" exhaust fan, it sits on a board and it was easy to isolate for vibration.
I just threw a loop of soft tubing under the board.
My filter is at the top so I draw out the warmest air first, it goes down thru the fan and out.

On the other side of the tent I use a flexible 3' 4" diameter passed out as a fresh air intake?

I have two 10" fans moving air in my tent and two fans moving the room air around the outside of the tent
as well as the two inline Fans for ventilation.
