Growing Inside Basement Vs. Bedroom

I live in a environment that can get very cold during the winter months. Just wondering which is better for my situation. If I wanted to do a basement grow im thinking the winter might be really hard to get my temps in line. Which way would you go large bedroom or basement?

i would sy it depends on how handy your are with a tape mesure,hammer and saw? if good with tools build a small room in basement. you could build a couple of grow boxes.

If it where me I would do a basement grow. If your house has a crawl space and a basement than that would be ideal. That would provide fresh air and a good place to vent. Plus in the summer it is easier to keep cool.

How would you control the heat when it get to cold in the basement. I know the lights will provide some heat but how else can I battle the low temps.

There is this really cool new product out on the market that works great for helping with cold temps. Its called a heater. Crazy I know. You can get one at walmart for $30.

Building a box would hold your heat. and in summer you can then use ventalation to help keep it cool. I'm in a bedroom closet and can't wait to get to use my basement.

Yeah I have heard of a heater dumbass but when it comes to heating without insulation thats a huge problem. If your not smart enough to figure that out dont comment on my post. We are all here to solve a problem together not to listen to your smart ass mouth.

wow sensitive aren't we. I was just saying between your lights and a decent heater your temp problems would not really be an issue. People are always looking into all these crazy solutions and for some reason always over look the obvious.

Anyone have an opinion on if they think I should use a ?

1. bare bulb set up vertically

2. Basic light reflectors

3. Light reflectors that are air cooled

If this basement is a true cellar, ie, underground, DEF go with that. That will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The earth is the best natural insulator. The temperature of earth 6 feet underground is dependent on latitude far more than any seasonal variation. In my area, where temps range from -20 F in winter to 85 F in the summer, the ground is always 54 degrees. that means it won't get hot down there during a heat wave, but also when the temps drop in wintertime, you've got the constant 50 degree temp. I don't think you should be concerned about cold at all in the winter.

I grow in my basement in two grow boxes i built with exaust to the outside. My flower space is only about 2'x3' and 5 feet high. With a 400 watt hps and 250 cfm inline duct fan the room is about 80 degress. With lights out the temp drops to 63 degress weather its summer or winter. Humidity is a diffent story the really goes up in the summer months and down in the winter. Hope this helps
