Growing regs..PRACTICE

I'll never try growin bag seed again, only fem seeds from now on. Reason for that is that I had bad luck, I germinated 30 bag seed , vegged them, took all my precious time on them, got them high everyday, spent a shit load of money on them, I used nothin but ADVANCED NUTRIENTS on them. When it came to showin their sex, one by one came out as males, make long story short, out of those 30 seeds, all I got is one gurl. I know it sucks hum ?
 
Yeah that sucks. I've had almost an exact 50/50 split from bag seeds. The last four gave me two male and two female. Before that I think out of about 40 I had 20 females. You can get some good smoke out of really bad weed. I think most of the time it's the growers and not the strain that is the issue with cheap stuff.

right on, have you checked the ph of the water? I have to get my water from a certain place because some that I have checked was over a ph of 8.
 
not really...i wen to home depot and other store searching for a ph reader but have yet to found one..
i really dont want to buy anything online but from the looks of it i guess im going to have to..
 
i'm growing some reggie also my plants just sprouted yesterday i hope i do everything right also i'm just doing it for practice .:)
 
yeah it was all fun when i started but now i really hope they turn out females!!!
man they are looking so good for my first grow
i just hope i dont hit any major problems

In the high times thmq shwag is anything that costs $1 to $149 per oz.
Mid is $150-$349
Kind is $350+
Around here shwag is what we call brick weed.

It was just some $450 a pound brick weed I picked up the summer of last year that was decent. It has 3 pheno types that I have seen so far, all of them have been great smoke

I just call all the cheapo weed shwagg. Lower quality but not always bad, Its always all bricked up. A lot of it comes from mexico/mexicans in my area

I try to have both actually. I like to buy an ounce of the good shit and a QP of the shwagg. Just so I dont smoke all my kind buds up. I like to smoke big ol' blunts of shwagg with everyone and hord my good shit for myself lol.
The few seeds I do get outta the good shit dont seem to work as well. I do have a seedling going of some purple weed I have been getting. Great shit, it smells like grape and is packed with resin(the bags it came from, not the seedling lol)

Hell yeah you can get great pot outta shitty brick weed. It just shows the potential that the pot had.
Of course you are going to get much better/consistant smoke outta the good shit. The strains are stable so there is less chance of hermies or a crappy seed/bad pheno type.

One of the shwagg seeds I have been growing has a 6-7 week flowering time :bigjoint:
This one in this picture went into flowering on 2-11. So its not even at 5 weeks yet

i dont want to put all this hard work for nothing know what i mean!!
but yeah some guy i know told me that you can tell when its a male or female
when its a seedling...said that the skinny plants is male and the fatter nicer looking ones are females
so im taking a poll how many of you agree?>
 
I actually think its the complete opposite. From what I have seen the males are usually the really bushy one and the ladies seem to be more leggy

i think i'll hold on to my babies till im 100000% sure they male or females
 
shit my parents found my closet grow one day at was shopping for supplies at home depot so they told me to get rid of it..
but me being me...hard headed and may i add weed head as well..decided to find a better and more stealthy growing spot..
and i came up with this idea which i think im not the first stoner to come up with but its a good stealthy spot!!!!
