Wow... I am so ready to see something come up from mine I can't wait... It's like having a baby and not knowing the sex with this bag seed. I have no idea what will sprout.

Your pics are great, what a healthy looking GIRL.

She looks happy. Some times a Pimp has to talk shit to go a whore to get her working.

thanks guys. i think the up-cann did help, but i also screwed up with that little bit of soil in that solo cup. i had to pull on the roots to get her out and that may have caused this slow growth. i think its about back on track.

Hey man! She looks so nice! Good luck!

I am planning to start my own cmh grow, but i dont know if it will success because of space limits. My own grow box is under construction!! Thinkin for a long time to start with cfls, but seeing all these excellent grows with ceramic halides, i fall in love with that! :P
So guys, could i ask you something? My space is (W) 1.3ft x (D) 1.3ft x (H)~2ft. Could i run a 250w? Or a smaller would be better? Thanks guys.

With 2' height I'd go less I'm just testing my 250W and the heat from it is quite a bit more than the 150W I have. Hope that helps.

Hey Mountainlover. Thanks for visiting. I am a little concerned over the 250 watt in your space. You space is only 3.38 sq ft, and that's tight for a 250 watt HID light. I think the 150 watt may suit you better with less heat problems. You don't want to purchase a 250 and not be able to control temps. Plus the 150 bilbs come in a universal mount so they can go horizontal or vertical, in case you redesign later on. Stick around, things should get interesting very soon.

Daniel and Gumball thank you for your answers. Im really wonder about the temps in my box, so cmh's or cfl's is what i will get to start with. Due to space limits i am between 150w and 250w cmh, or 200-250w of cfls. In this space im gonna to have only 1 plant, so i want something good for my very first time. I prefer cmh's but generally i have no experience on growing. I have search for 150w cmhs bulbs, there are diferrent colours (K) and some have uv-block. No problem for that if i could add later a uv reptile bulb.
Gumball you have right. I dont want to buy something that wouldnt work for my future plant. I dont have money also :P, so i have to think a lot before choosing a bulb. Cmhs makes yummy colas!! Looks awesome!
So guys what you thinka? I think i have do a lot of research but im am stuck on bulbs, cause no money, mean no try, mean headache thinking if you choose the right thing..
Thanks a lot!

i think CFL's will get you through your first grow and give you an idea of the temps. you can buy 8 26 watt (actuall wattage) CFLs, 4 2700k and 4 6500k and 4 Y adaptors from Lowes or Home Depot for less than $20. that gives you 208 watts. then get some outlets, i dont like the plug outlet light sockets myself, but i've never used them either. and yes I would use it all all the way through the grow. it will be bright as hell, more than you think. if your growing bagseed, start at least 2, preferrably 3. this way you have a 30% chance of getting a female.dont let them get to big though cause if they are all females you wont be able to bring yourself to kill one for the space :). thats my .02

I think the 150W would do you good. Good luck and start a journal and we'll help.

You don't want the Uv block (Color Fade I think) I'm experimenting with a reptile bulb now. Heat might be too much in that space though.

Hey man! I have seen many very good grows with cfls. When i started to plan my little project i had in my mind to choose cfls, but later, when i saw some others grows with cmhs, started to think seriously about that. Now i am almost in the middle of constraction, so i have to buy the bulb/bulbs right now, and start the grow :).
Its a big dilemma and i want to do the best i can do with that.. So my man, you think its better to start with cfls. Well, i think the same, but you know, at the first time you are a bit anxious with all the thing. You have more flexibility with cfls, you can add or remove bulbs so temps isnt so big problem. I want that as simply as it can, and thats why i am thinking about one bulb (cmh). My problem is the height. I cant go with a higher box, but i could redesign it, to do it a lot wider (almost 2x wider, but then it wouldnt be stealth) if it let me run a cmh. Also its easy to build a diy a/c :P if it helps with things. Think that i have to stop and go get cfls to start? Isnt 150w cmh better than ~200w of cfls? Yes im going to grow bagseed, starting wit 2 or 3 and then keeping one female :)
Thank you

Thank for answering Daniel.
When everything are on place, i will post a journal to let you know about the project, and tell me what you think.

yes, the CMH is better than CFL's, and it is easier with one bulb than a buttload. but i siggested a cheap out for you just to get a feel for your environment. i am only suggesting to go cheap at first with CFL's and when you have success you can put the CFL's in the light sockets in the rest of your house and buy a CMH. if you buy the CMH first and it dont work out well, you really cant re-purpose it. i am thrifty and efficient, and i would rather be safe than sorry.

I see what your saying. Design it so one socket in the place for a CMH bulb later then start with Cfl's. I just know I'd end up wanting to up my grow. For example I got a PC with Cfl's, then did a PC with a 70W CMH after seeing yours. Sucks to plan when $$ is tight. I sold unused stuff around the house on Craigslist to complete a project or two.:-P

Yeah right. I havent place the fans yet, because its depending of the lights i will choose. Of course if i will go with cmh, i will put the fans (maybe buy more fans, now i have 2x80mm, 2x120mm and one 120 that can stand on the bottom) at different places for the best air circulation and maybe i will use a glass tube, or separate the upper place with the bulb, with a piece of glass. If i dont get the light/lights now, i couldnt complete my box.. all things inside my small box, depending on what bulbs i will choose to go.. Thats why i am a little confused and asking for the right bulb. ty

Yep, but your also legal. So lets say you got a bulb to big for your space you can just change your space. You do try to be stealthy, but not for legal reasons.

Plus if you go out and buy a cmh and decide you don't like to grow, highly doubtful, your not out the money.

There are cmhs with not mogul base, but G12 base (something like two pins) that are for shop spots etc. Those common have uv-block. I have read that plants need the uv a lot. UV helps buds to be more frosty (yum yumm).. Dont know guys. Maybe i have to design the box so i can start with cfls and later change to cmh. But yeah, budget is very low to trying different things at the moment.

Check out easy420forme's grow. He has a box your size with a good design and cfls. He posted the link somewhere in here and I am sure he will chime in now that I brought him up!
