Happy birthday to me Happy birthday to me..today was my appt and I got my license to medicate and permit to cultivate for personal use. In Washington its 24 ounces of curred weed plus 15 plants total with 6 in flower at a time I think. Are there any other washington users here today to help me understand the laws so I am legal? And for god sakes someone help me decide on how to make my grow room. I have a huge shop to work with and moneys for equipment. I was reading and I think I will soil grow for a while till I feel comfortable with how the plant cycles work and learn how to tell when the girls need water and such. Man Im stoked.....really really excited to get the permit. Never thought I would see the day:clap:.

Sorry to hear you have a serious illness though....

Hey, does the MMj law allow you to grow outside? Just wondering if they want to keep it out of sight...or can you grow them right in ur garden now....?

You have to keep it out of sight of the general public in Wa.

Doesnt however say you can't grow it outside, just must be hidden.

Thats correct. I remember back 2 summers ago when this lady was on the news because her giant plant had a huge bud growing over her fence in her backyard. The news was actually there reporting because her neighbors called the cops. She was on there apologising that her plant was so big and she had not intended to grow suck killer smoke.....all I could think of was how big her smile must have been.

MINE ARE GONNA BE ALL INDOOR this year. Mabey I will have just 1 outside....my yard is really big and private I could get away without ne1 seeing.

ya fo sho dude grats on the card, sorry to hear about your illness though....

as for needing help with your grow room, there is tons, and i mean TONS of info on this site, do a bit of reasearch first (and by research i mean a lot, i was reading this site a couple hours a day for over a month before i even registered) get a plan concocted, then start a thread and run it by some of the pros around this site. not trying to sound like a dick, but saying something like "And for god sakes someone help me decide on how to make my grow room. I have a huge shop to work with and moneys for equipment." doesnt give much incentive for many people. they dont want to go out and design your room for you, but there are more than enough people (myself included) who love to give their take on a PLAN for a room.

just a thought, but grats again on being legal friend!

Im not really ill or sick....I have nerve damage and chronic pain from a mishap back in 2002. The weed will hopefully allow me to get off the prescription pain killers. I have started reduceing my doses and adding bong hits when the pills are not cutting it. It seems to be working so far but it will take a while to taper down off the narcotics so we will see just how the canabinoids stack up against the RX Ive been takeing for so long. Something tells me I will be eating ibprofen and Tylenol along with the weed. I need to do some experamenting with different strains till I find one with heavy pain killing properties. One thing for sure...the stuff out there nowadays is sooooo much stronger then back in the day when I was a everyday smoker in High school back in 85. It was like 12-14% THC max....once in a while you would see some really good skunky bud but the 25% stuff around everyday is just crazy knock you on your ass ripped weed. I really have to start out slow and think small hits or risk getting overly high and not enjoy the ride if you what I meen. Sometimes makes my heart beat out of my chest for 10 minuts if its to big a bong rip. I have not been smokeing this stuff for like 15 years except mabey on Christmas and newyears....so I guess I am what you would call a light weight without tollerance.

No its cool man. Hahaha The reason I said it like that is I have seen all the awesome grow rooms on this site and all the tips and advice and I am just a little overwelmed with options from things like soil to foggponics to ebb and flow systems its hard to choose a trail to victory. I am gonna try and keep is simple and not go spend a whole bunch on stuff right away. I am thinking starting off with some good soil and use one of the organic recipes for additives to it. Leave the hydroponics and such to the other growers till I get a few harvests under my belt. This way I can learn about lights and fans and learning how to recognise what the plants are needing be it water or what have you. I am thinking I will get either 1 1000 watt light or a 600 watt light. What do you guys think?

Do you know which strain you need for your particular ailment?
I wish I did. I have some stuff that I got from a friend a couple months ago. It works really well. It has that 1980s Christmas sugary sweet taste with the frosty white crystals and has such a nice easy high. Doesnt just destroy your day with some paralysing comastone. It just feels really good and makes the nerve pain forgetable for a few hours. Some of the stuff out there today I have to be careful with because Im not used to such strong stuff. I need an easy one that wont speed up my heart. I have some of it and will bring it to our growing class at the medicle club to see if one of the other growers can identify it. Its so smelly I have to tripple bag it and people in the grocery store still look at me with strange looks because they smell it.

Wish I knew the strain

OK here is a good question:

1} As for grow rooms. I have 2 rooms availible to me for growing. The first room is not heated and has unfinnished not insulated walls. The second room is finished drywall with no windows. Has a heater and is pretty big....mabey almost the size of a single car garage. I only need to grow the legal ammount and dont plan to ever grow more then washington allows. I have a friend that used to grow years ago and he is saying that I should build 2 big air tight boxes to keep the plants in so it will be easier to keep out insects and keep the temperature and humidity stable.

2} Also.....how does someone find clones in the portland area?

3} If you were just starting out growing should I be trying hydroponics or just use soil for my first grow? Is the learning curve to much for hydro? I already have a pinpoint digital ph meter and a reverse osmosis filter to make purified water. Should I just jump in with hydroponics? What about deep water methods versus drip methods versus ebb and flood systems. Which are easier for the novice?

Thanks for the help!
