Harvest around the corner, do I keep trimming under the canopy?? And a few more ??

Sup Dudes,

I've been hackin away at my girl after another fellow grower told me to get rid of that blood sucking under growth. So I started and now i'm wondering how far do I go? I mean whats really needed? Do I get rid of all of the big fan leaves and only leave the leaves :) that are intwind with the buds? What about the spindly bud that are forming under the canopy and trying to get to the light? Do I 2000 them too, I mean they are definetly taking some energy to create and sustain. But I feel kinda bad cutting the little guys off! And plus I keep thinking it's part of my yield.
Next line of questions. When the hell does everyone start counting their flowering days?? As soon as you flip the switch to 12/12??

-->DSC03174.jpg (notice the puniness when I start flowering)

that seems weird, seeing as the plants internal clock doesn't flip immediately. Or does everyone or most start counting at the forming of the Calyx

--> The Grow II (11).jpg

or at the time you see that first set of pistils
--->The Grow II (47).jpgThe Grow II (17).jpg (Notice this is no longer a puny plant)

This method would be more consistent !!

Notice: There is about a 15 day or so difference in between my pics, so measuring 8 weeks of flowering from one starting point clearly isn't the same as the other...)

If we do not have a set method its time to set one! And it should be when Calyx's or Pistils appear, since ALL Mary Jane flowers with their pistils out... :)

So clearly no response from the experts here in this forum! Thanks experts! Kinda sucked becuase my questions were good, and necessary. But i guess my questions aren't as exciting as those stupid ass "how much will i yield" questions..
Amazing!!!

Anyway i did get expert advice in another thread. And just in case anyone else is wondering, I was advised to chop chop and chop! get rid of everything still under the canopy. So thats what i'm gonna do today. I may waste more time and post "post" op pics in this thread!

i always count time in flower from the day i switched the lights.

Sup Dude,

@ wAc, If I start counting flowering from the day I went Lights 12/12 then I'm already on week 9 of flowering. Shining Silver Haze is supposed to be a early harvester. I consider early harvester a Maximum 8 weeker. Looking at my spread i've at least 2 more weeks....

SO I'lm betting to count at the Calyx formation time is more accurate since that puts me somewhere around week 5-6 of flowering with about 2 left.

that works out....

:)

i dont know why some people start counting flowering time when they flip the switch and not when the plant is actually flowering, if that was the case then the breeders would give an estimate of 12/12 time not a flowering time
