Have to disturb light cycle - please help

Hello y'all.
I have 2 cannabis plants 4 weeks old in veg state under mhid lights working 18-6 cycle. The plants are in a small attic (not a closet or a tent) which cannot be 100% light proof so whoever strolls around my apartment can notice the light coming out of the attic. My appartment is small and most of the time I have no visitors so I have all the privacy I need to grow.
Unfortunately I have some visitors coming next week and they will be at my place for the whole day (family thing I really can't get away from).
I can't allow them noticing the lights so I will have to turn them off for 12 hours!!
What are the impacts?? Is it completely bad and damaging if one day the plant will have a day of12-12 cycle (maybe even more. 14 dark - 10 light) and a day later will go back to 18-6 ??

1 cycle shouldn't hurt ya. I've heard of people losing a couple cycles with no effect due to equipment failure.

Now, I'd like to understand why the light can be seen in/from your attic?
Leaking from eaves? Or what? Get some expanding foam, and fill those light cracks/leaks!
If your family can see them, the gardener/landlord can see them....

yeah, I wouldn't worry about one day....but you should really try to patch up the light leaks...it may turn your girls into hermies
