Sounds like a fun diy lol. Make sure to check the socket wattage . my lamp had a 13w max .
Good point I wouldn’t think to check lol 13 watt max that’s crazy! I thought more or less all of them came equipped to handle 60 watt at least even though I don’t understand why they make incandescent anymore, better bulb for dimmers would be my only guess.

Just figured you'd probably be using 23w cfls figured it was worth mentioning lol. if it's not a cheap ass Ikea lamp which mine is, i'd think it would be rated better.

I’m glad you mentioned it, like I said I wouldn’t have thought of looking. It says max of 150watts or max 29 watt for self ballasted bulbs so I’ll be good. I’ve never seen that self ballasted part before on any other sockets weird, I didn’t realize cfls are self ballasted until I researched for this grow either...

That's not bad. Looks like a potential project now lol . And hey safety first I put a hardwired smoke detector next to my tent wired to the one next to my bedroom.

Remember, you're feeding what's underneath the soil and not what's above. What's above just tells you how the roots are doing. For the plant to grow healthy it needs to have nutrients available at its disposal.

If you want to keep it really simple, buy a bottle of Dyna Grow Foliage Pro and just run that from start to finish, but add some recharge too.

2.5 - 5ML per gallon of dyna grow. Your feeding frequency should be something like (water with nutes, water with recharge, water with nutes, plain water). Just keep that rotation going and you'll be on the right track.

There are lots of other nutrient out there which I have no problem recommending, but the reason I'm telling you to go with Dyna Grow is because of the simplicity. Once you get comfortable growing and begin learning what makes a plant 'tick', you'll be able to adjust as needed.

Day 25

She is getting back on her feet, definitely had nitrogen deficiency and transplant shock. Lost 5-6 days of growth, she is taking off again now.

Decided to go with the fox farm trio, bought a bottle of grow big at meijer for $14 started feeding at 3/4 strength with big bloom added in. My local grow shop has prices marked up way to high so I decided not to buy anything from them except fabric pots if I can’t find them elsewhere, I would rather support local businesses but not if they are trying to rape me. Officially not organic anymore, trying to decide wether I need to add microbes or if the natural ones I should have can survive this fertilizer.

Also decided to start using my tap water as it has a good amount of calcium and my fertilizer has magnesium. As far as city water goes it seems to be way better than required, to the best of my water quality report reading abilities.

Edit: added a couple pics for color comparison first one is without cool white light

Day 27

I pruned a few damaged leaves today. I figured even though they are still producing energy, it’s not at 100% efficiency so let her put energy into new growth instead of repairing.

Adding an automatic humidifier today, hopefully that will keep it right where I want it. Going to start taking an hour of light away every day till I’m on 12/12 in 6 days, I know that’s not necessary but I think it’s more natural and might help with hormone production.

She has been looking good reaching for the light in the evening good to see that again. Growing about an inch in height every day, I hope she doesn’t get too big during the stretch. It’s going to kind of suck, I’ll only be able to check her most days as she is waking up. Next time find a better light schedule...

Day 35

Decided to switch to led bulbs for the remainder. Running 6 23watt cfls, 2 are blue spectrum the rest are 2700k. 8 14watt leds at 2700k, definitely looks like the leds are focusing light better. Having pretty mild weather so I had to unplug the trash can heater as temps were exceeding 90. Humidity has been between 40-50%

Does your soil happen to have an Npk label (doubt it). Curious as to what your mix is. Any added lime to the mix or anything? I have used the fox farm grow big and tiger bloom several times as well. They are pretty good, especially the grow big

Plants look ok at the moment but I’ve had plenty look the same and it isn’t long before things get ugly if you don’t change something up. Notice the darker pink purple leaf petioles and purple streaks up stalk. Even some purple in leaf veins I see. I’ve only encountered these symptoms with lack of phosphorous or soil staying too wet too long which I think maybe affected the uptake of P. The way you’re leaves want to slightly droop and curl down toward ends makes me think watering is atleast part of it. Continue on the same as you are and the very newest set of leaves will emerge with pink petioles. The purpling will reach the very top of stalk and take over as more than just stripes. Leaves get darker and darker sometimes and some leaves eventually get mottled brown, fade and drop..mostly the lowers. Branches get woody and stop gaining girth. Before this, they are weak and flimsy. Yours look to Ben in that stage. Leaves stay small and not enough space between nodes. How much and how often do you feed? Size pots and amount you water? I’d say it’s from the cold but it has that look.

Ok i saw you started feeding them tiger bloom. How many times so far? If you keep up half strength every other water and water the root zone well, letting it dry out real good between waterings, the leaves should raise up better and the newest small fans that will come out in he next few weeks should have green petioles. Look for the purple to not continue to climb up the plant on petioles or stalk or branches. Take note of how much purple you can see in the veins of leaves and watch for it to not get worse. Look for brownish spots on lower leaves in combination with color fade at same time or shortly after. Some will say magnesium but it’s phosphorous. Id bet on it. Combo of wet soil and low p is what I think

The mix I’m using is on the front page it’s a weird mix coco, peat, compost, perlite, vermiculite has triple .12% NPK . I didn’t add any lime I used peat to buffer it more acidic a slurry set out for 24 hours tests just above 7ph last I checked. Since I switched to fabric I been watering every other day or so soil is nice and dry by the time I water. Using full strength grow and micro bloom, half strength tiger bloom right now feeding twice a week as per schedule switching to full strength everything probably this week after one more feeding (have half gallon left) I’ve had problems with heat, cold, and low humidity for the first 2-3 weeks what I figured attributed to the purple stems. Had to replace my heater Friday the thermostat was sticking and temps dropped to 48 Thursday night so she is not looking healthy right now. The heater was being funky for awhile temps would randomly drop to 58 and go up to 90 during lights on so I decided to unplug trash can with a heat lamp in it when I noticed it at 92 with lights on. With the new heater temps are more sustainable 59-60 at night 75 or so during the day.

Edit: I water probably a little under half gallon at a time, 3 pint jars filled as full as I can get them. I have small holes drilled in the lids so I can water nice and slow with no dry spots. Water is ph’d to about 6.2, pot is 3 gal

Day 40 from seed
Day 7 flowering

She has been droopy since Friday when temps dropped to 48 the night before. My opinion is the roots got too cold and put her in shock. Started ph’ing my water to 6.5 to make sure she can get phosphorus thanks @danjac82 for the thought.

She got her first pistils on Sunday despite the stress she is under, hasn’t really been stretching though.

New heater with digital controls has been working great I set it to 76 temps drop to 64 at night and high of 78 during the day, still dialing in humidity been 40-60%

Day 9 flower

She is starting to perk back up, put her on a milk crate to get her further away from the cold floor. Growing about 1/2” a day, sitting just under 20”.

Day 10 flower

Pruned the lower fan leaves today.
She was 12” tall at first day of 12/12 10 days ago, nearing 22” today for future reference on this strain. I really hope she doesn’t continue this stretch for another week and a half.

hey, nice journal. they definitely have P deficiencies (ph problems). cold root temperatures support the P deficiency, so putting them up was a good idea as well as ph'd water

Day 13 flower

Still growing strong 24” tall today. kindly asked her to stop stretching and focus on bud development, will have to wait and see if she listens.

Day 15 flower

Added two more led bulbs so I’m at 10 14watt leds, 6 23 watt cfls that puts me at 280 watts surrounding this girl. She ignored my request to stop stretching so I asked again today, told her straight up if you grow more than 3 more inches I’m going to have to lower you back closer to the floor. Will see if that works but I doubt it she is pushing 27” today, keeping the light close didn’t help it just burned her a bit but she didn’t care grew into the damn thing anyway.
