Are you keeping them I the dark? If so the you got some bad seeds, try superthrive if all else fails.

How long have you been holding seeds in those towels? I had seeds germinate weeks after putting them in there, just keep waiting. Maybe those seeds are from fresh harvest.

Do you mean mold? The longest I have waited for seed to germinate after fresh harvest took 2 months. And it was not starting to rot yet.

hi herbalbeast
the white spores is possable mould, see if you can gently pick it off with tweezers.
did you soak the seeds in water for 24hrs before you put them in paper towel????

Make sure your paper towel isn't too wet. It shouldn't be dripping, just moist. Your seed needs oxygen also, don't suffocate it.

hmm.. I didn't soak in water for 24 hours .... but I never did with any of the seeds I germinated before. As for oxygen.. I guess it has enough, but they are in my desk so that they have no light. Dunno... I feel like I paid that money for nothing :(

I had better luck (quicker results) germinating my la woman in soil (compared to my lowryder #2 in a paper towel).

take a nail file or fine sand paper and give them a quick buff up, hopefully this will make em absorb some water and kick start them.

Seeds do not need darkness to germinate. But any sprouts do need light as soon as they appear.

I have used paper towels, but feel it is not natural - God made seeds to pop in soil.
