I see...how many CFL bulbs you using?

ow i have 3 sprouts already and i have a seed that cracked today
just going to let it get bigger in the toilet paper
and im useing 4 cfl's for the big plant blue spec 6500kequavalent to 100w each
and i have more but useing them for the sprouts

Thats fine for that plant at its age. But as you know, the more lumens the better.

If your going to be growing alot, Invest in a HPS and MH light.

If your not growing big, Do a 400W MH, and a 150HPS.

If your gonna grow big, get a 600WHPS with the 400W MH light

im going to be doing differant things all the time soon
and ya i know i have to get MH/hps lights
but for now im sticking with cfl's just to see where it takes me
and try to get batter at everything and get more in touch with the plants before i start jumping to better lighting.cuase if i could start doing great with lesser quality lights imagin what i would be able to do with better lights so this will get me better in general u know what i mean?

Yeah, thats why I said get a few grows down with CFL's. If you can grow a nice crop with CFL's, then your ready for HID lighting.

I agree with that about the MH/HPS. I am using cfl's right now so that i can get the hang of things. than i will get the bigger lighting

Yup, get it down with CFL's then move on to bigger and better things. Some people prefer CFL though.

i know ive been knowing for a while im just useing this stuff to work out everything so when im ready it will come out fucking great with no probs i cant handle :0)

ok i have another question i just got up and was looking at my sprouts
and one of them been looking kinda sickly for some reason and looks worse today
so i went and took it out the soil,there are roots and stuff so i went to move away some of the soil from the roots and found some like whiteish clear small ass worms type shit crawling around near the roots.can anyone tell what these are and how they got there?

im thinking they might be those gnats droping babys in the soil
if so u think the soil is to moist?
or what?

i think it could be those gnats landing in my soil laying eggs init
like little magots in there.
so i took and threw that sprout away and went threw that dirt and made sure there wasnt anymore in there or anything else and i put another seed that cracked in there
so now i have 2 sprouts and 3 waiting to come out the soil plus the big one i have

Clowdy... glad to see al is still going well I love checking back in on this thread and glad I could be of help to get you growing decent. You have made leaps and bounds over your initial grow... hell I almost feel like its part my grow too kinda like a virtual grow or somethin without the payout of course but none the less a VR grow.
As far as topping its really not dificult or something to worry about I did it on accident my last grow by "pinching" and broke the top off. It recovered and had to nice shoots out of the top. If the dam thing wouldn't have been male it would have had a couple nice kholas.
As far as HID I got a great deal from HTG digi ballast 600W hood and complete setup for around 125 or somethin. differences can be seen but the grow isnt done. It does heat the room up quite considerably and the reason ppl prefer to use CFL is they are compact, give less heat, and are more efficient (cost less) to run. If its for you personal grow u'll be fine always growing with CFL. If you wanna see how big you can get em or just want more then HID is better at least for flowering stage.... anyway sorry I havent been participating much latley but this is the really boring part for me I hate the veg stage.
