Yorkshire area or any where up north you realy wanna be looking for seeds like white rhino or a.m.s strain both from greenhouse.these strains are ideal because of there tolerance to mould.other than that boys it's a trip to your plants everytime we have realy bad rain you have to trek to the plants to shake the fuc@ing rain off or all your hard work sat at hame watching trisha will have gone to waste.alsoi can't belive how many folk are talking about planting outside there own homes [madness]if the neighbours see and report you and they will noisey bast@rds with nothing better to do then they will want to look around your house the dogs will be brought in get the picture.this is pure lazyness get out there look 4 a decent place and blitze it.you only need about 10 plants to have an ammount that will last you a good while thats if your a smoker and don't sell.i don't deal so i have a nice stash for months.plant early for big yeilds end march or middle this gives plant plenty of vegging time.don't mean to sound bad going o about planting on your door step but it is a sure fire way to jail. And if you are still going to plant on your own back garden start loobing your bum holes now in readyness for prison.Only plant on your own property if the property is in the middle of no where.

haha yeah i know what ya mean, my neighbours are grassing fuc@s so id have no chance in putting them in my garden. ive got a decent spot which me and my m8 dug outthe otherday we decided to change from our original spot as we found beer cans there last week so somebody must ov been there :( could someone please tell me how long it normally is from the seed being planted in the pot (after germination) to actually been able to see something? also is it still possible to grow purple power and ata tundra outdoors aslong as wen it rains we shake the rain off?

a few days depending on strain for a sprout to shoot up.

not sure about purple power but Ata tundra is a good strain for colder weather. i grew some in my first grow. and u dont need to shake the rain of them.

if the seeds germinated, and u have potted them, then they need at least 18 hours of light a day (18/6). some people do 20/4 some 24/0. however u could probably get away with 12/12 which would put them straight into flowering but thats a different story.

id say give them a week, if nothing happens then id dig around the soil gently to check whats going on.

oh right i heard you could leave them in the dark untill they sprouted then put them under light. i havent got a grow light though :( they just have to go on the window sill and apreciate the good british sun hahaha

They need warmth and moisture not light when they havent yet sprouted, leave them somewere by a radiator or something until they sprout then move them to the windowsill. :bigjoint:

dude, put the seeds in a tupperware box between 4 sheets of DAMP kitchen towel place the lid on said box, wrap a towel round it and throw it in your boiler cupboard.if the seeds arent shite they will germ in 24hrs.drop them in your chosen medium and they "should" break the soil another 24hrs later.

sorry, yes, if the seeds havnt germinated, leave them in a warm dark moist place.

once u see the tap root, u can pot them, then they need light. putting them in the window is fine for a few days but u will need a stronger light eventually.

my mistake for the confusion.

cheers guys ive pt them in my wardrobe which is right next to my raidiator so its warm and doesnt get any light. ive also been reading on a forum that someone used 2 20watt energy saver bulbs and kept them on 24/7 duing the seedling stage before he planted them outside is this possible? i thought ud have to use a proper grow light.

Im in the UK 2. im thinking of doing an outdoor grow this year aswell (1st time outdoors!). I no of a river near where one of my friends lives. iv already scouted a couple of spots where i want 2 grow. the Ph of the river is very high.

sooo isit best to grow in a big container full of soil and water it with the water from the river (Ph adjusted). or just plant the seed in the swampy area near the river bank and hope for the best??
(the area is secluded).

orrrr i was thinking getting a couple auto flowers and growing up in a tree :eyesmoke: ( I already scouted the tree. its got a snapped off trunk way up high, and its big enough to put a couple of average sized pots) But its kinda early in the year dont u think seeing as they take like just over 2 months from seed.
m8 its a crazy idea doin it in a tree but hey its up off the ground so itll be further away from pests that would only be really on the ground n if ya got 1 were ya ya could stick a big pot up in it and there was no path ways crossing that side of the tree so no1 would be able ta see it n somewere ta stash a we set of ladders n it was the sunny side i would say its very possable today rep fer that idea i think ill be keepin an eye out fer a gd tree location when im out with the dog

The 20watt 'energy saver' is a CFL bulb so yes, great for vegging your plants. Just grab a couple and get a couple of bulbholders from a DIY shop (£1.05 each in B&Q's), metre of wire or two and a couple of £1 plugs and your away!! B*Q's also sell really cheap but reliable timers for £1 which is amazing and fine for low power use such as this.

The typical supermarket CFL is 2700k. Specialist electrical stores will sell you a 20watt 6500k spiral for around £4 to £5, this gives you some 'blue' or 'daylight'.

If you grab a 20watt '2700k' and a 20watt '6500k' 'daylight' and use them together you can keep your planned outdoor plants ticking over nicely until you are ready to plant outside, for about £10 all in and wired up :-)

Hope this helps.
