I have 4 femenized seeds red diesel plants that are one month old in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil and they started yellowing alittle after 3 weeks, so I gave them 1/4 strength nutes and they looked good then the next time I just gave them plain PDed water. The nute bottle said feed, water, water, feed, but after I gave them the plain PHed water they started turning more yellow so I just gave them 1/4 strength nutes this last time, I did feed, water, feed because of the yellowing. That was two days ago and I think it has helped some. Should I give them more nute water this time after I gave them nute water on two days ago so they might turn more green or should I just go ahead and give them water this time and then next time bump it up to 1/2 strength? I just do not want the yellowing to get worse on the new growth. thanks

NITROGEN (N) Pale plants, red stems, smaller growth. Rapid yellowing of lower leaves progressing up the plant. Add any chemical fertilizer containing N. Treated plants recover in about a week.

PHOSPHORUS (P) Slow or stunted growth, red stems. Smaller leaves that are dark green. Lower leaves yellow and die. Add chemical fertilizer containing P. Affected leaves will not show recovery but new growth will apear normal.

POTASSIUM (K) Affected plants are usually tallest and appear to be most vigorous. Necrotic spots form on lower leaves. Red stems. Leaves appear pale or yellow. Add chemical fertilizer containing K.

CALCIUM (Ca) Lack of calcium in the soil results in the soil becoming too acid. This leads to Mg or Fe deficiency or very slow stunted growth. Treat by foliar feeding with one teaspoon of dolomatic lime per quart of water until condition improves.

SULFER (S) Plants suffering from S definciencies exhibit yellowing of new growth. Mix one tablespoon of Epsom salts per gallon of water until condition improves.

MAGNESIUM (Mg) Lower leaves yellow and may even turn white while veins remain dark green. Blades die and curl upward.

IRON (Fe) Leaves on growing shoots turn pale and veins remain dark green. pH imbalances make iron insoluble. Foliar feed with chemical fertilizer containing Fe or rusty water.

MANGANESE (Mn) Necrotic and yellow spots form on top leaves. Mn deficiency occurs when large amounts of Mg are present in the soil. Foliar feed with any chemical fertilizer containing Mn.

BORON (B) Growing shoots turn grey or die. Growing shoots appear burnt. Treat with one teaspoon of Boric acid (sold as eyewash) per gallon of water.

MOLYBDENUM (Mb) Yellowing of middle leaves. Foliar feed with chemical fertilizer containing Mb.

ZINC (Zn) White areas form at leaf tips and between veins. Occurs in alkaline soils. Zn deficiency can be treated by burying galvanized nails in the soil. Chemical fertilizer containing Zn can also be used.

OVER FERTILIZATION Causes leaf tips to appear yellow or burnt. To correct soil should be flushed with three gallons of water per one gallon of soil.

Hope this helps

allright man i am growing in FFoF also all i did was take the soil straight form the bag and planted it into my bucket, but as far feeding goes, I just use the grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom. During the veg cycle i actually give my plant nutes with every watering and shes doing as good of growth as my last hydro harvest. ( i have a thread that hydro grow and i also have a thread of my current grow in the ffof) By looking at your plant though i would say that you should feed with 1 teaspoon per gallon of grow big, and she will recover great.

So even though I gave them 1/4 nutes this last time the I should give them the 3/8 nutes this time so it will help them turn green and it will not burn them you think?

yes. you r gonna have to transplant them pretty soon too. do you have drainage holes in those plastic cups? there seems to be so little soil in there that not enough soil to hold the nutes. you could burn them if you overdo it. I would feed than transplant and not into MG soil, lol. you need more dirt

Ok well I will give them 3/8 nutes once its dry again and them after it dries from the 3/8 nute water, I will transplant them into some way bigger pots with FoxFarm ocean Forest.

Or should I just go ahead and transplant them into the Ocean Forest soil and then water them with the 3/8 nutes or will it really matter which way I do it?

transplant, i bet when you take that bad girl out you'll find some root lock. Also the new soil will add some nutes to the plant.

I know the soil will add some nutes to it too. So should I still add the 3/8 nutes strength after I transplant?

I would just transplant, if you add 3/8 nutes to the fresh soil then you may increase the EC of the fresh soil too much, also I find that roots will go searching for the food in fresh soil just fine without adding anything to it.

They should green up nicely within a week. Then you can start thinking bout using nutes again.

Just out of interest are you using GreenDream nutes?

NO, I am using these new nutes that just came out that the guy at the hydro store told me worked really good. Technaflora Plant Products - Product List

I just started using 1/4 stength of the grow nutes. It said to use 8ml per liter so I used 2ml for the first time. I will transplant to the foxfarm ocean forest soil and wait a week or week and a half and add 1/2 nute strength and hopefully, they will be on their way. Thanks your help.

Does this sound ok? I am going to transplant them tonight into bigger pots and give them some PHed water with some Thrive Alive. And wait a week to start the nutes.

Well I transplanted my plants today into four 2.5 gallon pots and give them PHed water with Thrive alive and a super weak nute dose. That was this afternoon, now it is like 4 hours later and they are all looking alittle droopy. This is normal for transplanting right? And they should pick up in a couple days?

oh yeah, i forgot to mention i am growing my plant in a twenty two gallon container and i had to use two whole bags of FFOF to fill my pot up.

Any Suggestions on when to start 1/2 strength nutes since I just put the plants in Big pots with Foxfarm Ocean Forest in it?

Here are some Pics I took today. They do not look droopy anymore. I am I guess I will give them a mild nute solution the next time I water too after I see how they react to the FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil. I am really not sure what to do next. I hate this guessing shit!!
