I've had a plant that was in way too acidic of soil and it had some funky growth like that and it eventually yellowed out. If you list stuff like your pH, soil make up, temperatures, feeding (if any), etc. people on here might be able to help you out better

well I'm growing outside, first time actually growing so I'm trying to figure out methods, I am doing my research on pH levels and different lighting etc.. Thanks for the reply

I almost always notice this in the first leaves and then the plant usually straightens it's self out, but it looks like your growing in regular sand/dirt?

I used just dirt from my backyard once...11char1.JPG

That's at 11 days, had all kinds of problems that grow and it showed in the end. Yours doesn't look too bad yet, i just want to show you what could happen. Of course some people are gifted with great natural soil but most of the time that's not the case and you may need to just buy some good soil.

I'm growing these with the same dirt but they don't have the same defect.

It could just be the genes in that case, maybe it would have grown deformed regardless of the conditions or maybe it is just more sensitive than the others. And like furnz said it very well could just straighten out eventually. Not much you can do to help it for now except wait.

ive had a few do that and besides pH, I have no idea whats causing it. Lots of different strains too. ill be watching to see what happens. Sidenote: I just harvested the curly leafed OG and it did fine, just had curly leaves.

If you are growing outside the only light source is the sun. Of course, nothing is better.

I have had the curly leaves on some kush plants I grew. I think it was genetics because I saw the same traits on indoor plants as outdoor.

Usually, curly leaves are caused by a nutrient concentration that is too high, but backyard soil should be pretty benign. In my very first grow, I grew three random bag seeds with three very different phenotypes under the same light, and only one of them had curly leaves. Genetics definitely play a role.

If you have moved the pot in relation to the light source the plant will "twist" itself in order to follow the light. BigSteve.

ive had this a few times... ive noticed it when my plant was about 20days old (8 inches tall).... the leaves were turning yellow and curling like what youre showing... i lifted the pot and noticed roots coming out the bottom and figured i would transplant. turns out my plant was root bound and as soon as i transplanted about 4 days later the curled leaves started to uncurl and the yellowing stopped and there was nothing on this earth that could stop her from growing (2 inches every day). your plant looks way to small to be root bound. my guess is the nutes youre feeding it, if any. try using a 1/4 ratio instead of a 50/50 and work your way up.. also like mentioned above, try buying some soil. some growers live by fox farm products, maybe you should try that out. also since its your first grow try growing indoors first. its way more controlled and i find it was easier than growing outdoors. a bit more pricey but well worth it. check your HP levels all that, im sure youll find the cause with a little investigation
