if u got city water just fill up gallon jugs and lit sit for 2 days with lids, gh makes hard water micro, I got well water never had a problem, ur using fox farm ?
Help! Please it's urgent!

Yeah roots are hitting the water. Should I start lowering water levels?
I thought it was high too, but when I got down to it it breaks up like this
- 240ppm tap water (charcoal filtered)
- 450 ppm nutes ( she has had the nutes minus tap water for a week, no burn- I was using distilled water)
- Now that I have placed tap water she has grown like a beast and even the roots are noticeably growing. Could the accelerated necrosis be from deficiency damage already done? Yes I'm using FoxFarm.
- I'm assuming she just needs time and I'm just being a paranoid hooker on Friday night.

im a little confused I would keep the level of ur water about an inch below net pots and ur roots will eventually grow down into the bucket and I would add nutz in water then use ur meter it I would do about 400 until you see growth ur on the what 3 or 4 node shes still a little girl and then start bumping it up, since its fox farm I think u should start out with the grow big and big bloom in veg then when u switch to flower u use the tiger bloom, so for 4 gallons I would do 6 teaspoon of the grow big and 9 teaspoons of the bloom and ph to 5.8 and check it everyday it should drift up and u will have to use ph down and bring it back down to 5.8 once the leafs stop falling off u can rase the ppm, once u get good at it u can read ur leafs to what the plant can handle ppm wise, hope this helps
cool not sure exactly how knowledgable you are sounds like you have a good concept of whats going on I to am new and learning one thing I have learned for me is the kiss system keep it simple stupid (for me not you) I was overcomplicating and seems a lot of beginners do that peace

Nutrient uptake ranges are different in soil and hydro, and are also affected by things like temperature and the amount of other fertilizers in the soil/water.. The charts are more of a general idea but in most applications if you pH to 5.8-6.1 and don't let it swing up past 6.5 (talking about hydro here) you'll be fine.
In response to differing information about pH a general rule of thumb is if you ask a question here and someone just tells you a number/flat out answer to your question with no explanation or link explaining why it's correct then completely ignore their response as they've never grown a plant to harvest in their life. If they post actual information or a link to something, read that link and information but still take it with a grain of salt. Nothing is true on Rollitup.

update:
according to your feeding instructions, it's more than what's fed now, 6tsp BB, 3tsp GB (30ML 15 ML), but anyways after doing some digging, literally, I realized it just needs more time. Also about the water levels, I was told to have the water cover the bottom 1/2"-1" of the net pot for the first few weeks, also found this info in majority on various sites. The roots have reached the water and she's loving it! I actually noticed twice as many roots in the water then yesterday. If I had to guess I would say the roots are about 2"-3" long from the bottom of net pot. Is this when I lower the water level?
If you look at the pic below, you can see the stalk still recovering. The main stalk, under the seedling leaves was such a dark purple, it was almost black. The same has happend to the top half of the effected fan leaf stems.
After removing some rocks I noticed that the green is coming back! I will update after a few weeks and let y'all know how it turns out.

on the subject of lighting, I'm positive I don't have enough to finish her but I plan on adding 4 more 24" T5HO for a total of 6 with my led. I don't have enough $ to add 600w HPS plus I get a killer deal on my T5's, $25 a piece.
LED 411-
45 3w leds 135w
8 Band Veg+Flower (same as Mars led but no white and non switchable)
T5- 6400k 24w
Check out the pics and let me know if AFTER adding the extra lights, will it be enough for a decent finish.

oh nice dwc im subbed. im in coco now and i really miss dwc. the buckets are bubbling now waiting on some monster cuts. lol yes hydro can go bad really quick if you dont listen to your plant. keep temps inside your tent and inside your buckets good. its all a learning experience so make those mistakes. if youre going to swing do it from 5.8. remember that since youre soil-less that youre controlling everything anything too low can and will destroy you b4 you adjust it. my 2 cents. besides that knock it out the park wishing you atb

5.8 - 6.2 (oops missed the 5.8 by .1) No lower and lower is worse then higher and effects the plant faster.....Test and adjust every mourning at lights on!
FF or anyone else for that matter never "requires tap water"!!!
It requires Ca/Mg supplementation ! You DON'T know exactly what is in tap water....ANY water over 150ppm should NOT be used!
What a label says about tap or hard water CAN BE very "off",,,,Like I said, You (and they) DON'T know whats IN that water!!
I used my local well water at a seasonal swing of 146 - 152 ppm and did ok. After a year I was reviewing notes from my other facility and saw to big a difference in yields (hydro and soil). I installed a high pressure/speed RO system and everything evened out.
If you start from 0 ppm and add your Ca/Mg (CALi MAGic by GH) at 5ml per gallon. Then you add nutrition and pH.....There is less unknown "whatever" and the plant has only what it needs to grow! It grows better, bigger, faster,,,,,with only what it needs!
To much Ca? I would say no.....There are other compounds in the water giving it it's ppm.....That's what it looks like...and that could be related to the low pH!

I was on the sticky covering water in depth. I was going to ask about the FF not having enough calcium.
Is a product like CaliMagic sufficient enough to add to purified water to level out FF?
Are there any other micro nutes that need to be added besides CalMag?
I looked into Flora Micro but that would give me too much N if mixed with FF. Although all the "micros" in flora micro are almost exactly the same levels in Grow Big.
Given that fact will CalMag give me too much magnesium?

CALiMAGic = yes, I like this product over others for the added Iron that it brings to the table. That is the Micro I would be most worried about with "purified" waters.
I have not had problems with micro nutes....I run mainly soil runs so there wouldn't be would there?
At any rate,,,,If you FEEL that you might want to supplement some micro's,,,,,use AGE OLD KELP.

I'm sold! I put in the order for an RO system and CaliMagic today....
Soon as it comes in i'll change the water out and hope it works out well. I definitely hope I get way more than a couple O's, especially given the strain(CreamoftheCrop CashCrop).
Just in case I also ordered a 600w LED 9 band to give it that extra umph!
