something is eating my plant and i dont know what. i know there are grasshoppers in my backyard but i dont see them very often. and i havnt seen any worms or anything.
Start looking for a rabbit or another varmint. look closely at some of your leaves, you can tell it is an animal with teeth and not insects. I suggest cages around the plants or spray with some hot pepper water mixture to make the plants a bit less tasty.
Are they getting enough light? Seems like a lot of stretching between nodes too.
honestly i dont think it gets enough light. i wasnt expecting it to do as well as it has. i just threw a seed in some soil and let it do its thing. my backyard is fenced in, so i dunno what kind of animal it could be. but i do have pepper plants and they are getting eaten too. but my tomato plant looks fine
Looks just like grasshopper damage to me, they striped one of my 2ft plants to the stem. In one day!
garlic spray seems to kinda minimize damage , but they still eat on em.
Looks like grasshopper and I have not found anything to keep them away, just have to keep a good eye out for them, than kill the F$%#%^%ers. Yes it will get some taller. And I have never had grasshoppers eat any buds just the leaves.
oppers are nasty this time of tear here...if your not seeing any hoppers on them and there is debris that is moist around earwigs come out at night...those fuckers eat the shit out of my vegie garden every damn year..make a beer can trap if you think that is it (google it there are several styles i catch about 15-20 a night in eachn of my 3 traps)
Only insect probem I ever get is damn grasshoppers. I spray with a soap/garlic infusion - gets rid of the bastards - don´t know if it kills them but they clear off.
