Help with first organic grow please... Pests/amendments

Ok I have started my first organic grow in a 4x4 indoor tent and I was drawn to the subcool recipe for the fact that it was water only.
However i didnt want to buy a bag of each amendment so I picked up the rainbow mix in grow & bloom.
Mixed:
11.2gal roots organic
1gal ewc
1gal perlite
Lime epsoma
Epsom salt
Hydro organics Rainbow mix (grow)
I moistened in a wheel barrel and let it cook for about 4wks.

So on to the questions...
1. Should I have mixed the bloom nutes in the begining while I was cooking the soil or is this top dressed during the transition period?
2.Im at roughly 30 days flowering and have noticed quite a few fungal knats around the soil... I hung fly strips, will a neem/water soak address this? Also tiny clear bugs have appeared on underside of leaves with 2 black dots I'm assuming these are spider mites I killed all the visible ones I could see and have noticed a little speckling on leaves but nothing too extreme yet do you think I'll be able to make it to 10wks? I won't be able to make it to my tent for a few weeks.
Thanks

pick up some ed rosanthals zero tolerance, its and herbal pesticide. Should kill the spider mites. for the knats, dry your soil out to the point where it is about to stunt growth. get the first inch of soil real dry. I would mix the bloom nutes for the bottom layer. Make sure not to spray the bugs though. or get a shit ton of lady bugs. good luck

i disturb the soil all the time and they don't seem to like it. Just stir the top lair of soil around and this will piss them off. Keep doing it and they should be minimized. Sounds silly i know, but how would you like it if someone destroyed your home.

Ok I will disturb top layer. I assume u meant don't spray the buds? I kinda figured it would disturb plant too much to mix nutes in the bottom when they are that deep in veg I ended up top dressing the rainbow bloom and primal harvest during transition hopefully it will penetrate with waterings.

AzaMax is a great product for pests. You can use it as a soil drench and as a foliar. It's systemic so the plant takes it up into the roots and when the mites eat it...you get the idea. Their eggs die when they lay them on the leaves as well. I've also killed flying insect colonies in the soil with a drench. It's also vegan and OMRI listed.

long term indoor use of azamax/azatrol may lead to numbness in your fingers
Where did you read this Malignant, do you have a link? I've never heard anything of the sort, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt if you have any info on it. I've assumed that it wouldn't be the greatest idea to spray onto the buds, or to use as a drench during flower, but we've been using AzaMax and juicing fan leaves for awhile, with no kind of bad results.

I remember reading something about Neem possibly being Carcinogenic, but technically so is cooked food. I've not yet heard anything about the AzaMax or Azatrol. In fact, I did however hear that Azatrol has something else in it that kills on contact. Not sure.

I have NEVER heard about neem being carcinogenic, it is known as a "cure all" in Indian medicine for thousand of years and is used in beauty products around the world today... do you have any sources on this?

The quality and source of neem is of utmost importance.. so check into your product before you choose. Azamax, azatrol... etc, are all based on neem, but unfortunately Azadirachtin (the active ingredient they are shooting for) is the only compound from neem that they are using in these products. In actuality neem has hundreds of compounds, including over 20 different types of terpines that effect insects (not just the Azadirachtin as their labeling suggests)

Choose a neem product that is 100% neem oil, if this isn't clear enough I can suggest a couple of brands.

As I stated, cooked food (browned plants) is carcinogenic. The reason you have never heard about Neem being carcinogenic is because there are no studies, which means it's probably not. My point was only that if Malignant has a source for me to read I'd be interested in it, as I juice the leaves that are not only sprayed with a high quality pure neem oil, but have also grown Azadirachtin into the leaves via Azamax soil drenches.

I believe that Neem, and AzaMax, are both 100% safe to use, which is why I use them. But I'm also open to new information, especially new information about products that could be negatively affecting my health.

That being said, some oils when burned carry a more significant health risk when ingested after being heated or burned, so Neem could be very bad for us if it is sprayed onto the buds and burned....or it could not be bad for us at all..again no studies. :bigjoint:
