So Today was my first day with hps and i think i went slightly over board with 2x600. I checked on my plants at 5.30 am and looks like 4 of them got heat stress. the leafs are all curled up and on one plant looks slightly burnt.
i disconnected one of the 600 lights and the 3 that looked the worst i put bk into the 18hour cfl grow room..... 2 of them seem to be coming back on but one of them the top of the plant is horrid.

should i cut the top of and leave it in the growing room for a little longer and try it again in a week or so?

i have also put a much bigger fan in the flowing room and raised the lights right up

Any other suggestions

i still have 3 in the flowing room that seem to be doing fine

Yeah, it looks like you went overboard with the lighting, or at least had the lights way too close to the plants. Since they are just babies, you need to back those lights off to at least 24" off the canopy. At this point, I would cut the tips off the fan leaves that are really burned and let them recover with just 1x600w light.

with the cfls they are 78s mainly 77 on a cold day 80 on a hot day
with the one 600 now they are around 83-85
with the two 600s on their up near the 100s

Yea I read temps should be between 70-85 I'm gonna take one light out and turn it round so I get more spread is there anything else I can do to help them out other then raise the lights are cool them with a larger fan? Maybe cut the feeding down or feed them more?
Also the pic I posted which I commented it as a good plant how does that look to you?
Thanks

I really think you have done all that you can do at this point. Don't feed the plants more or you risk getting nute burn on top of the heat burns. You can cut the tips off of the burned leaves to help them recover faster.

I would say the healthy plant looks very good. Just give the rest of the plants some time to recover. Your grow is not lost so don't worry.

i think the 2x600 is a lil too much for the room its in so one has been off for a few days and the temp is nicely between 77-80

will take some pics of the mother plants and post them up in a bit and see what you think
