Good point. I say ban public schools. What is the one trait that all school shootings share? Schools, obviously. I, for one, think it is high time that we stop subjecting our children (for God's sake, the children!) to such needless danger.

Nobodies taking your guns. I remember when they banned armor piercing bullets my grandfather got this right wing newsletter that told him to hide his guns. It stated that the government was coming to search houses and take every gun in America away from citizens. So the next day he and my wingnut uncle dug a hole put a construction gang box in it, filled it with guns and put an aluminum shed over it. I told him nobodies taking his guns and to settle down, he said "they're on their way! The army is coming to search every house in America!" My grandfather had a minor heart attack while doing it and I'm still pissed at the wingnuts. They also told him that he needed to join a militia because "the country is going to turn communist and put republicans in camps" that was 22 years ago.

That time coincided with the crest of antigun sentiment and legislation in the States. I have been amazed and somewhat gratified to see the gun law tide turn toward increased consideration of the owner's rights since then. Back then the gun nuts legitimately had more to fear. A trend reversal is a powerful thing for propping up one's morale. cn
 
i say 1 out of every 4 teachers should be taught to conceal carry a firearm. or at least arm the willing teachers and give them the proper training to use the weapon. arm most of the populace and give law abiding citizens the right to conceal carry. no one wants to fuck with people with guns. not even other people with guns. that is unless ur obama.

Allow all that are capable and have shown proficiency to carry. Bet we'd do better than 25% and be safer.

very true. i carry even tho i cant get a permit. im proficient. the problem lies in my great sheriff that feels the civilian population shouldn't have to defend themselves. the police should do it for them. needless to say he is an asshole that issues to almost no one. ill go to jail to save my life or possibly the lives of others. so i carry.

i'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

The 2nd Amendment is all the "right" one should need to rely on to carry a weapon imo.
