i bet all the people involved in accidental gun incidents knew they were irresponsible. i bet none of them ever said "i know what i'm doing, it's all safe".
You mean like the cop who shot himself in the foot during a school demonstration?
He was all about safety before and after he shot himself...
yeah like that.
and pitbull owners who say "my dog is just a big teddy bear at heart". as he eats another baby.![]()
There is an episode of Doomsday preppers where a father and 2 sons are out target practicing and the dad gets an ammo jam and mistakenly places his thumb over the barrel while he attempted to clear the jam...
Blew the top 1/2 of his thumb off... I dont recommend this technique....
The real tragedy was trying to hitch-hike to safety, and being ignored ... cn

So what about the millions and millions and millions of people who already own one of the hundreds of millions of guns? What you gonna do about them? What do you do about the hundreds of millions of guns that are already out there that may or may not have proper safe storage? So get gunshops to mandate a weapons handling course before they will sell someone a gun, get them to require proof of secure storage. Education would do a lot to solve these problems.

they do that with cars, yet look at all the "accidents" still happening.
What's your point? Life is dangerous, there are bad people, and laws clearly can't keep you safe from all of them.

you answered your own question.![]()
A LOT of people LOVE to get drunk and go shoot guns. A LOT.
I know i do.
Just shoot some rounds off in the backyard.
Did manage to get a couple of fruit rats while i was at it.
I don't get why people think getting drunk and operating a gun is any less unwise than getting drunk and driving home from the bar.
I stand a very, very, very low chance of accidentally shooting someone. If you adhere to basic weapons safety rules, your risk of shooting someone on accident is effectively zero. A gun very rarely goes off on it's own, someone has to be negligent for that accident to happen in almost every circumstance.
