I'm wanting to build a 4 or 5 cob light just for veg, I see most peeps using the 5000k version but wouldn't the 6500k be a better spectrum? And maybe a higher bin too?

a lot of people think too much blue is a bad thing (bleaching, inhibition of processes, etc)

remember a 5000 and 6500k cob is really not the same spectrum as the same color in fluorescent

experimentation is in order.

heres a couple different 6500k T5s:

heres a 5700k cxb3590 (couldnt find a spectrum for 6500)

those charts are pretty small but it looks like the cob is much broader spectrum than a t5.although its tough to compare because the t5 chart is for 2 dif t5 lamps and both lack in the 550 to 650 nm
