In order to reduce the power of the federal government, it is necessary to reduce what gives them the power ... namely, income.
Abolish the tax on income. If there are to be any taxes paid by the citizens, make it an excise tax, exactly like the taxes you pay at the gas pump.
Abolish the IRS.
Cut corporate taxes to the bone.
Eliminate taxes on capital gains.
Eliminate the inheritance tax.
Abolish the charter for the Federal Reserve.
Return to private banking.
Return to precious-metal-backing for all U.S. currency.
Elect representatives (like Ron Paul) who will respect the 10th Amendment.
Privatize the public school systems.
Privatize Social Security.
Turn the Pentagon into a Triangle.
Abolish the Departments of Education, Housing, Energy, FDA, FHA, BATF, DEA ... and all of the numerous, wasteful bureaucracies ... including the one that measures the flow of catsup!

So you want anarchy? well look out because all those people you throw off the system are going to come your way looking for a handout. Libertarianism will not work. It sounds good, but in practice, it ends up in anarchy

You claim Libertarianism has never worked, but such a perspective ignores the fact that this country was governed under Libertarian principles from its founding until 1913. I use 1913 as a benchmark because that is the year of the inauguration of Woodrow Wilson, the horse's ass who thought the U.S. should be a democracy following the model of the parliamentary democracies of Europe.
Answered many times before.
Federalism.
A Federal government which adheres strictly to the Constitution. States united under one Constitution, but free to govern as each sees fit.
I thought the Right only practiced the politics of fear. LOL!
Democracy is mob rule, much closer to anarchy than Libertarianism.
I mentioned Federalism previously. Federalism ended in 1865 with the end of the War Between the States, when Abraham Lincoln forced seceding States back into the Union at the point of a bayonet.
Subsequently, the United States acted like much more like an Empire than a Republic. Then along came the Progressive movement of the early Twentieth Century and American Mob Rule (Democracy) was the result.

are anarchism or minarchism right wing concepts? if the idea that we should all be afforded as much liberty as possible is such a conservative concept, what is the liberal alternative? should we all bow in subservience to the omnipotent state? i guess i just don't understand the selling point for the new left. ever more massive government and ever tightening restrictions in exchange for a little comfort seems like a grand idea for cattle being fattened up for slaughter, but it seems a sad turn of events for thinking rational beings who are capable of making decisions for themselves. i can see that there might be some folks out there who are too apathetic to mind being treated as livestock, i can even understand that there are others who feel sorry for those indolent fools and believe they should be treated as the bovines they are. i just don't see why every man, woman and child should be treated in such an infantile manner.
you want specifics? sorry, but i have no grand design. how about we start with the minarchist concepts of the constitution and this country's founders. we have complicated government and grown the bureaucracy to such an extent that our forefathers would hardly recognize the mess we have made of their simple plan. the only reason for governmental intrusion into our daily lives is the expansion of the power of our would-be masters. i'm not fool enough to believe that a workable anarchist society can spring up over night, but there is no reason we should not work toward the day when government is an unnecessary thing of the past. instead of tightening controls on the people, we should be allowing them greater freedom. freedom to succeed or fail, but always to learn from those lessons.

of course not. though the goals may be laudable, the liberal establishment and its adherents will not believe that a curtailment of our liberties is not justifiable. they lack the needed patience and refuse to endure the pain of what failures naturally occur. they have faith only in a system and not in the individual.Get it now, Med?
