He's happy with the results of the first grow, so we've got five pairs of boards backed by 480 drivers going in there either this week or next, depending on his schedule. We'll probably end up driving them at about 400W a pair. The boards in the photo are hooked to a 320 driver that's putting out about 345W to the boards and is keeping up with the QB324s next to it running 400W.

Great thread we have going here.
I'm really enjoying the show.
If anybody is annoyed, please use the Troll-Be-Gone button...aka the IGNORE button.
It's a miracle!
Sorry, doesn’t solve the prob, only hides it...but i’m willing to leave...

Not talking about you.
And it's not my thread...only a suggestion.
Thanks...

I don’t take sh!t from trolls, and i agree with @Randomblame , ignore is for pussies...

So, if mgt refuses to appropriately deal with the scumbag, i won’t be participating...i’m here to help and learn, not deal with trolls...I can always learn elsewhere...

A known troll should be publicly scorned, not ignored...i’m more disappointed in the other participants on this thread, than i am of the troll...tbqh

If a troll's not funny, he's invariably a fuckwit. Either way, he's here for our entertainment. So ignore him or laugh at him - you can post whatever you wish in this thread.

Thanks...

I'm sorry you feel that way. Clearly you were targeted for effect. He's as predictable as he is purile. The last time he targeted someone in the Support forum, he got his gaping arse pumped so hard it wrapped his rectum around his eye-liner until he whimpered little a little bitch for admin to spare his vagina.

Squash him and move on. He's really no threat to anyone here.

When trolls arrive your thread that's actually a good sign, lol!
They only pounce on the good threads to make sure as many people as possible can/will read their nonsense. So if you have trolls in your thread, don't worry, that's actually a predicate no matter what bullshit they secrete!

Cloning Amnesia OG (where’s my bike), hoping to transplant to DWC buckets in about a week...will run under 96elites from rooting to 5-6 nodes, then split to HL/288/96 tents for training/veg, then resplit (2 vegged under that tent’s lights plus 1 of each vegged under other lights) for flowering...

Should give some good comparisons...

Any idea what the term OG means in Amnesia OG?
I've seen OG the 1st time mentioned with the good old OG kush and there are lots of crazy theories out there what it means. There are 4 theories that makes sense to me somehow..
"ocan grown", "original gansta", "original grower" and "original genetic".
I tend to "ocean grown" which just means "pretty good west coast weed" otherwise we would have lots of OG strains created in europe, lol!
The first Amnesia was for instance created by HyPro (NL) in the last century and was actually a selected Neville's haze pheno crossed with an secret strain. So there are actually only 2 possibilities left... ocean grown or original gansta.. cuz its for sure not the original breeder or the original genetic.
I wonder if the old cypress hill crew has something to do with this strain (they said OG means original gansta) so the only thing that makes sense would be "ocean grown".
Today the whole OG thing means probably it's a high quality west coast strain and is nothing else as a "seal of quality"..?
That question drives me crazy since many years, lol!
Maybe bubba and his friends have just used it because it sounds so well and they laugh at me cuz it actually means nothing, lol?!
What do you think, bro? What means that term?

BTW, nice results in the elite vs 288 smackdown! Less power draw and better yield... Seems we have a clear winner..!?
Just one run but +200w less power draw is a lot and I don't think that will change much when using other strains. Let's see what the HL boards can do..

I wish I could do those light map thingies the Prawn does, I never know how many strips of Samsung are enough and how to adequately space them. I'm pretty sure I am still overkilling it.

I really like the double row Fs and probably the H_Influxess don't look too shabby either... still double row, for cheaper construction. The local market is very price sensitive.

In the Form factor that Samsung chose to put the strips, the F's actually give me a greater total output (in lumen), but also eat 144W instead of 140W at the 1.05A I am looking at. all dif is probably 30 dollars on a fixture, I might go with either. The F's pricepoint is nudging it

Additionally, when i asked @Prawn Connery for his opinion on supplementals for this smackdown, he told me to go ahead and run his bds “as is”, the 288’s with my usual supplementation.

So if i get enuff healthy clones, i’ll be running each tent with eod far red, uva/b, and co2; and:
prawn’s tent - 8xHL (3-color)
288 tent - 8x288 plus 4x18/35
96e tent - 6x96 plus fr

I’ll periodically show ppfd, spectrum, and watts for each...
I have looked at this match up now for a few days and im ready to guess your performance will go the same order as quoted:
Highlights (best), 288s, elites ; or really, the performance will be relative to light distribution and hanging height. The High lights have more board surface than the 288s and should land on top.

OG Kush reference, as it's in the lineage.

First time I saw it referenced was in the early 2000s on Overgrow. Some used to think the "OG" actually stood for "Overgrow", as it was a clone-only strain that originally did the rounds on the site. But my hazy memory seems to recall two references: one, that it was a West Coast variety, and OG = Ocean Grown. The second was for "Original Kush", as in derived from the original Hinda Kush seeds Nevil Schoenmakers gathered during a trip through Afghanistan in the 80s. Personally, I've always thought of it as "Orginal Kush".

The F Series have always been good value, and I built my first veg frame with them. But when it came to building my first flowering frame, I used H Series single strips for a few reasons.

Firstly, there was a price break at 25x (H562D) strips that made them cheaper.

Secondly, due to the LED spacing, they are more efficient (less heat). In fact, have a look at the H Series and H_Influx series data sheets and they have the same efficiency, even though the H Series use LM561C and the H_Influx use LM301B.

Thirdly, more strips with fewer LEDs per strip means better spacing and a more even canopy. Each of the frames below are 48V and max rated at 345W (7.2A), but the flowering strips use six U-channels (two H strips per channel in series = 48V, then in parallel), and the veg strips only use four, due to the double-LED layout of the F Series.

There are some advantages to the F Series, IMO. They are easier to mount, and the double-row strips are aluminium, compared to fiberglass. If you have a big grow room, then there is a lot less work with the double-row strips. But then, we ended up going to Quantum Boards precisely because strips are so fiddly.

After a while you have to ask yourself: what is my time worth? And honestly, would I rather a save a few dollars on strips, or buy the best LEDs available knowing I'll pay for them many times over on the first grow?

I can understand wanting to save a few $ on your first grow - where set-up costs can be significant - or if you only have a small, personal grow space. But if you harvest more than a few ounces every grow, then it's a lot easier to justify spending the money.

When it came to fitting out a large commercial grow, there was no way we were going to fuck around with strips - no matter how cheap they were. We just designed and built our own boards. That's actually how this whole thing came about.

Its hard to beat a nice, even canopy. Of course, you would expect me to say that - LOL! :P

The H_influx or F series strips are pretty much the cheapest I can get that number of guaranteed quality LED already mounted, imported into this shithole, with free shipping to boot.

The way I build them with the hidden wiring and stuff is pretty sexy too and would survive a building collapse.

As reference makes sense too. If its an Amnesia x OG kush cross... I've also read the overgrow theory. In most of this theories there is something that makes sense... at least somehow..
I think it will stay a myth how the name was created. Even if I like the term original kush there were a lots of different kush strains in the hindukush valleys these days. Typically each family has its own favorit one could call a different kush strain.
I agree..These Amnesia seems to be a cross so probably there is just some OG kush in it..

What is 4x18/35 ?
Also the eod far red?
Looks like a wicked grow you got planned!

Myself I have no time for those that are here to cause problems, tells me they are lacking in their lives and then try to take out their low self esteem problems on others by baiting and trolling.

I am glad Ontario(and many Canadian cities and provinces) have a pitbull ban,to me only an asshole would want a dog like that.

Imo, OG=Old Guy, like “back in the day”, or “old school”, nostalgic view that the real reefer was grown by guys who could be our grandpappies.

Re the 96 vs supplementef 288 grow: Thanks!
I don’t consider the 2% more overall yield of the 288s to be statistically significant (basically the result of the 96 OG being a weaker plant than the 288 OG). Just look at the minor diffs in yield of the other strains - all of which could just be random variation.

But there’s no getting around the significantly lower wattage (higher g/w) of the supplemented 288s.

A subtle but key thing to note, tho, is that, imo, yieldwise, the 96s would have kicked the bejesus out of UNsupplemented 288s.

I don’t want to come across as more pompous than i really am, but with your help, i did a pretty damn good job matching the flowering power of their spectra.

I personally like the 96s better, even beyond their red spectrum advantage. First, because of the big blue spike, i believe they are a better full-cycle (prop-veg-flower) light (which i will test in this next grow), second, their size provides more open space and flexibility in confined spaces.

The great shame about pitbulls is not the dogs themselves - they are a wonderful breed - but the dickheads they attract. Also, don't confuse a mongo fuckwit's dog with a "real" pitbull - his is a fat, overblown liver-colour mongrel likely the result of some backyard fear-biting cross that wouldn't last 30 seconds with a proper pit dog. A reflection of his owner.

In the 70s it was the german shepherd. In the 80s it was the bull terrier. And in the 90s it was the pitbull. All of these breeds were subject to bans or attempted bans in Australia precisely because of the low-life cunts who owned them. They bred fear biters and curs - not knowing (nor caring) what they were doing - and undid all the hard, thoughtful work that went into the original breeds that had stablised them over generations for their specific tasks.

Pitbulls - although generally dog aggressive - can be wonderful dogs around people. They are one of the best alround dogs ever developed.

German shepherds have been mostly ruined by back-yard breeders and the show ring. Their only saving grace has been the fall of the Soviet Bock that uncovered good working lines from East Germany and Czechoslovakia (although they have their own foibles), and some of the original West German working lines.

Most police and special forces now use Malinois and Dutch shepherds almost exclusively because of the difficulty of finding a good German shepherd that won't break down in the field.

Bull terriers are a victim of their small gene pool and are another great dog that was ruined by the show ring - although the pitbull purists will claim they were always bred for the ring. Working dog owners - at least those who owned good ones - knew better. But it's almost impossible to find a good working bull terrier nowadays.

The moral of the story is: don't judge a breed by its owner.
