Highest yield per watt...

In my 8k I have to go with air cooled hoods, the ceiling is 8' and I like to do 10g pots, 4-5 per light depending on strain. I felt like gavitas would have been tough to keep cool in a smaller room and you have to keep the hood 3' above the canopy so that wouldn't give me much room for the plants. 4x4 for each light. The way the ac/de is set up, air cooling works fine. Doesn't affect the bulb temperature at all which is what causes problems. I use ushio pro plus de bulbs and nanolux de ballasts.

The nanolux weren't my first choice but all the gavita remotes and phantom de's were sold out and my hydro store wasn't sure when they were going to be able to get them. They said every one and their mother with a warehouse is eating them all up. I go to a relatively large hydro store too, they got 3 locations. I tried getting them in sacramento and humboldt, no go. They told me sunlight and hydrofarm didn't have any in stock and were waiting for them to be shipped from over seas. But anyway the nanolux have been working great for almost a year now, no complaints yet.

This video shows the par levels with 3 different air cooled DE reflectors, really good information and it shows that the ac/de isn't affected by the air cooling unlike its competitors.

In my larger setup I use gavitas, but I have 15' ceilings. Same thing there, 4x4 per light.
Yeah, it sure was very hard scoring the phantom DE's for a while there.

yes yes I understand...ty ty...I guess I have to go thru the strains....I think im start with....LSD....super silver hze or blue dream...NOT SURE YET....I have critical kush
blue dream is always a good start.BUT make sure you get a solid clone from a trusted grower.sometimes I find these seeds companies are not true to their packaging.whatever you do,stay away from nirvana seeds.i got seeds of masterkush that truned out to be these super sativa stretchy bug collectors.out of all the money I spent on seeds I got 1 og seed from a bag of the dankest og I have ever smoked...and it was a female.go figure.anyhey happy hunting.GO BLUE!!!!!

Yes
what makes m so good?brighter?more lumens?
Yes, and yes:-)
My light meter says so, and yield does too.
I wish I had a PAR meter, but I don't. I've only been able to compare lumens output from single ended hps bulb in a hood, to my new DE fixtures.

with my 600 watt HPS I get 0.5 gpw was when I try to push it and get 1 gpw I usually end up more like 0.75 gpw dry haha

I read about 2 lbs per light or 1.5 to 2 gpw I've never come close to this but I've never ran a 1000 watt or supplementary lighting with my 600 so I can't say

I've been trying to dial in my environments RH, temperature , distance from tops to lights and negative pressure/proper ventilation especially because I don't have cO2 supplementation currently rather than lighting and feeding

focused on a lot of mixing soil ahead and lettng it cook properly last run and it paid off to use water only with a few compost teas so with a truly soaked in environment it can truly excel I believe

peace my brothers may your branches reach tall and wide and roots spread deep ✌

whats your max number of plants with that 600w? from your experience? 5? 6?

yeah but that way I notice popcorn in lower leafy areas because upper fans shade it too much I prefer less plants pee light like 4
what are your average yields with 4 plants? give or take....if you had 4 big yielders like super siver haze..plz give me idea of what you have gotten,,,,ty ty.....definitely...scrog everytime?? best way ,right?

well with 6 I got about 2 ounces a plant so I'm assuming more like 2.5 to 3 in ideal conditions

as far as temp, RH, distance from light, adequate air circulation from oscillating fan, clean room that the intake pulls from etc

I've been trying to get all that right and worry less about feeding with bottles all nutrients are in my soil I mix ahead and let it sit and cook prior to use

wish I had cO2 that would bump numbers up but topping young and keeping light close as possible without heat issues and light bleaching is huge to get those big colas we dream of :)

happy gardening my friends ✌
