Im sorry, what are you using & how can i help?
I know you posted before about this but i was tied up & didn't get back to you. My bad!
You got the right led output to match the hps? If so then maybe you just need to "Dial In" ?
I went .65-.85 to 1-1.5 gpw / now bigger yields too when i switched.

I use HLG 600H, a 4000k for veg and 3000k for flower (both with potentiometer). I'm not sure how much I could possibly improve in flower because I follow the VFD chart as close as possible within a 5x5 footprint (tent). My best yield per plant has averaged 8 ounces. They advertise the light as being equivalent to a 1000 DE HPS. So I want to see if this is true. I pulled 3 plants out of veg, 48hrs into darkness and then under the HPS, 2 full days @ 600w and since the setting is @ 1000w. I knew that the HPS would require more cost than the LED's or my previous CMH fixtures but I didn't think it would be an increase of over $125 or more, that's crazy!
So this is for my own self experience/proof wether or not the claims of both my friends or HLG are fact or fiction

if not I'm back to lower yields with the LED's.
I blew it up with DE. I wouldn't be surprised at all if I could smoke an LED grow with a DE. That's not what this is about, though. You have to look at it from the big picture. What did you pull with the DE, now what did you pull with the LED.

Here is the real way to look at it:
Say you pulled x with the 1000w DE
and you pulled y with the LED at 500w.
If the yield is more than half of the DE you are ahead, and here is why.
You were already spending the money on the electricity to run the DE, right?
Now replace those same watts with LED all 1000 of them.
Now do a grow.
In theory you should pull more per watt than the DE.
Here is the thing though. It all comes down to the grower, not the light.
AFTER you can hit the light's potential it is time to start splitting hairs for efficiency within the LEDs.
That brings us to the now.
Most growers don't have the skills to max out a light, but still they want more. So they pay for more to be able to get bigger yields lazily that they could have otherwise gotten with some growing skills.

IMO, it is more about the grower, and less about the light.
I have yet to see a single grower that has maxed out any light. Meaning they can't pull a single more gram out of that light. The ceiling. Does anyone know of any that they can link?
Anyway, I see a LOT of growers here and there bitching about 3% this and 4% that efficiency. Spend big bucks to get a better light, when all they had to do in the first place was learn how to grow. Any light that isn't hitting a leaf is a waste of efficiency, correct? I've seen canopies with so much light laying on the ground it's crazy, and they want to bitch about 3%? You've got 40% hitting the floor.

You lost bro??
Perhaps I am lost, on maximizing my results of using/understanding white light. But I thought what better forum to share my experience with HLG led than here. I support anyone's efforts within our growing community to grow and expand their abilities, share knowledge and opportunities.

I also get watt for watt, sorda..But if a manufacturer claims/markets a product that is suppose to be equivalent to something then I want to see the results for myself. BTW, I run the fixture (HLG 600) at WOT, for maximum results.

I checked the ambiant temperature in the tent with the HPS and noticed that the lux output is far less than the LED. I've gotta research how spectrums influences lux readings..

Peace out :peace:

Blue spikes readings.
I hear you. You're kind've in the right place. Sep this is a side by side dedicated to just that. You're more rhen welcome to bring this discussion to my LED vs. HPS growing thread here In the led section.

Congrats on your new business endeavors Mang! That's cool! I like the x3 you have chosen so far. You'll be able to carry over warranties n everything right? Of course. Nice!
Are you going to use all 3 (what these threads are about) pick the best one & only offer that?
Suggestion if i may - How's about getting another RGB on board? x2 Enhanced white Bar Fixtures (nothing beats a bar layout) & x2 RGB's. Maybe see if there's any others with big claims or 1/2 a science behind? Maybe there's another board (Besides Mars) or another RGB Bar light?
GoodLuck Bud! Lmk if i can help in any way?

Would like to give a big Thank You To Cammi / HydroGrow for being so kind as to fix up some old Alphas fir me. She has them 1/2 lit so there's spare parts.
Plants are digging the spectrum so I'm able to use them on these white led deffient strains here instead of the MH. I think they'd prefer these anyhow.

You beat me. How many did you get? Have you taken the glass out yet?
Lol! Lucky to get the 3 apparently! Hahaa!
No, havent had time but to just hang the one.
Pretty cool! Mini Black-Dogs or other way around. Same spectrum as the 84's. W/o the lenses they cover well & are bright running @ the 200ish w. Gotta check thst still. Gonna use them to flower that plant prob.

Cool, I'll go put some pics up, too. They are WAY brighter with the glass off.

Does Mars make those lights for Cammie? Or that other outfit, seems to start with a G or something. They look exactly like some other blurple light from way back then.
