How bad are males?

Okay so I know they can make females turn to males and whatnot, but assuming people always have males, is there a way to prevent that from happening or is the best way to cut it and get rid of it, and next time I will be using 100% feminized seeds so I don't have to deal with this.

I am also wondering if you can tell a male/female for how the plant branches off but not sure, I know if you see pollen sacks/ball sacks that's the only way I knew.

Any times is must appreciated.

I also noticed when I switched to hps(from 1000w mH) and 12/12 my plants went from growing under a 1/2" a day to over 3" a day, What made it spur the time or the bulb or both?

males plants cannot make females TURN male? They provide the pollen for seed creation, which as you know is always a turn off when you're only trying to produce seedless bud.

Who in the hell told you a male would turn a female male? That makes no sense. Males make seeds and if you are a breeder or in need of cheap seeds, They are amazing, If you want sensi, Males are your worst enemy. Some fem seeds will go hermie from genetics others if you stress them they will herm, Maybe thats what you are thinking about? Anyways my advice to you is to find one or two different females that are keepers and just clone, Much faster and easier once you get over the learning curve.

Pot can be hermaphroditic with flowers of both sexes on the same plant. When threatened pot can turn from female (very early on) to male. But this only happens when environmentally threatened and single plants. Buy feminized seed and settle for those that don't turn male because some will. Pot is the only plant that can change sex or be either sex or be both at the same time. Buy yourself a clone from a known grow fan in your region. then clone her for a few generations and then start over again.

I mean, come on. You don't have to know why males aren't good to know why that statement is wrong. I know weed is great, but let's take it down a notch, and pay attention in school just like half the time people.

Okay, I haven't been growing as long as some people on here but not on one occasion have i ever heard of a plant going from showing female preflowers, Those disappearing and it becomes male all a sudden. I highly highly doubt that has every happened, If you have a article or pics i'd absolutely love to see them.

Female>male Don't see it happening, once a plant becomes female its always female unless it is stressed to herm or the genetics have a herm trait. No way can a total 100% female become a total 100% male. Just my .02 anyone wanna correct me with a article, pics, some proof?

Not trying to be a jackass or know it all, But don't try and pass off info as fact if you dont know.

I think he means herme and yes if you have a male kill it get rid of it as soon as you know. The polin will get on the female buds and produce seeds so when you see a ball get rid of it right away dont hesitate for even a day.

If it's your first grow males are awesome! Get that dude out of your flower room, but don't bin it just yet, use him to practice all those really cool lst and supercropping techniques you'be been reading about in your countless hours of research! Bend it, break it, top the hell out of it! Not only will it help you in your future grows by teaching you how to do these things, but it will also show you just how hard these plants are to actually kill!

Males are the shit lol chucking is fun bro. Just dont re-use the same ventilation equipment from a male room to a female room lmao. Its pretty fucking easy to accidentally pollinate females and almost impossible to stop when males and females are in the same room.

I do all my males in a tent,no fans are used after veg,I black box one branch and then just collect pollen from that part the rest of the male is still in veg ,once I have enougth for pollanating then he is cut down,or if I want to keep it I just out the branch I flowered of and keep the rest of the plant .

But all ways turn of the fans during flowering black out time,just a small box with a hole cut out by a drill bit a tad thicker than the stem,close the box around the section you want pollen from once male flowers open then shake the section into a sealer bag,I ain't had no problems that way but I do clean everything after every grow any how
