I am very happy and very content with the world, it makes perfect sense to me. It must be hard for you when you have to defend politicians, statism, and fucked up ideologies that are only half right at best. It must be very confusing and frustrating. In philosophy the world is at it is, there are things and there are people and that's it, there is no blue and green, only black and white (good and evil - wrong and right), no culture or historical bias, its very simple.

I also don't have a Messiah because I am agnostic so not sure what your referring to. If your reffering to Dr Paul then, he is far from my messiah but he practices and preaches basic philosophy in its simplest form so only an authoritarian could disagree or one who doesn't grasp philosophy. Perhaps its some kind of sinister conspiracy that he is convincing people using basic philosophy to vote for him so he can perpetuate his evil plots but, in his career, I haven't seen evidence of that although its very possible. It is hard to trust any politician.

Anyway, yes private prisons are a huge societal problem. The positive of them saving the taxpayers money is by far outweighed by the negative of the private prison lobby. The more people arrested the more they profit. L They lobby against things like legalization and for harsher marijuana laws along with other authoritarian laws.

Most of the Federal prisons under Private control are Immigration detention centers
If Obama is trying to fix immigration and even opened up citizenship for those 15-31 who have been here for 5 years
isnt he in effect hurting the bottem line of private prisons?

I built a private prison about 10 years ago. While doing the job I heard quoted they get paid 2,500 dollars a day PER head.
The state provides employees and products. So basically the government still pays all the overhead and then pays the private prison 2500 per person for them to babysit.

Its most certainly a ripoff.
