How long does a plant need light?

18 and 6 is the best! will give you a better chance on growing a female!

hey everyone i have been growing one plant for like 3 weeks. its about 6 inches tall but hasnt seemed like its grown or done anything in like 5 or 6 days. any suggestions on whats going on? please help a bro out

Early growth can at times seem stunted when what is actually happening is the root system will temporarily grow at a faster rate than the above soil growth. When that happens the growth you can see seems to have stopped or greatly slowed down.

There can of course be other causes that could be problems but it is not uncommon for plants to seem to slow down growth or stop growing for short periods now and then, especially early in the vegetative growth phase.

i just start growing mine and i dont know if im doing anything right maybe i am messing something but i have two cfl lightsand 2 plants one plant grew quick the other is growing slow i watter them 2 3 times a day and bassicly keep the light on 18 hrs a day and this just started on 2. need advice

Trying to mimic nature here means running the lights 14.5 hours on and 9.5 off.( max summer light here) I did this on my last indoor grow and they grew as much as my 18 hour plants.
