How long does dried and cured store for?

How long will my cured cannabis stay good for?

If I jar it tightly and store in a cool dark place, could it be good for a year?

Depends on how well you cured it. If cured properly and sealed in a jar with the bud filling up the jar, from experience, after a year the smoke is twice as tasty and just as potent. But if its your first time storing bud for 12 months, be sure to check on it every 2 weeks for 3 months just to be sure it doesn't get wet and form mold. open it, feel the top bud, and close it again.

So If i cure it properly, I can expect it to last a year? MMk... I will be searching the forums for proper cure techniques when it comes time. thanks for input.

I've kept select nugs that are over a year old and they smoke fine if you keep them in a good bag they'll even retain some moisture. Check out your local Can-Fan distrubutor for excellent bags that are made out of laminated foil they prevent moisture loss as well light from degrading your THC. Just make sure your product is too moist before you put it in the bag due to mold growth. Fresh product has a better smell but cured product has a better taste.

The previous posters are correct. If you properly cure your bud, it will last a year+

Also, blacking out the jars with black tape (if using mason jars) helps keep the light out.

Hooray! I learned some more stuff (she said as the heavenly smell drifts by). Never occurred to me to black out the jars (duh). I've also read that freezing them AFTER curing, kills any little nasties that may still be lurking in los budos.
