How obvious is an outdoor grow?

Here in Cali it's semi OK to grow outdoors in most counties...but the rippers are every where and they take your harvest in October in some cases.
I watched this grower from the main hwy..he had a nice ranch,long driveway,up the hill,electric entry gate...well what he did is plant a row of hedges all along his back of the house lawn...dang plants just kept getting bigger and bigger?
Funny thing is all the plants where gone end of October?

Id be so down. Anyone have experience with underground growing?! I would love to build a growing facility of maybe 5,000 square feet to start.

Good luck drying it without your family noticing, also with putting in the hours to trim something very large without rousing suspicion. My advice is to respect your families wishes. Sure the UV from the sun produces more resin than indoor lighting, but if they're already allowing you to grow indoors, why take a mile when they've given you an inch? =p Just my 2 cents, best wishes either way <3
Thats harvest time. Maybe he harvest them or got busted. How do you know they were ripped ?

I actually also live in an area that I can grow outdoors. But personally I think if you're in an area where pot is illegal and you know they do flyby searches, its not worth it. They will also bust your indooor stuff and fuck you up the arse in court.
If you do it, just one or two plants here and there. Try and find bush with similar colours. Pot sticks out from the air over here like sore thumb, as our bush is generally dark green.

If you have a wood line with south Eastern exposure plant under the trees.. As long as your under trees with your plant on the south east side of the trees you'll get full day sun and cover from the air, so no helicocksuckers dont see the plants, but if you just grow one plant you should have problems from planes or copters,

I grow a few plants in a suburban garden every year. I put the plants in tomato cages and wrap the cages with floating row cover.
Surrounded by actual tomatoes in cages the non-tomatoes are very difficult to spot.
