How to clean light bulb????

HI,

So I have to clean my bulb on my 400watt hps , the thing is its my only light In the room. Is it ok to remove the light for about 20 min without stressing the plants?

you should be fine, just make sure there's some other type of light on them to be safe, just so they're not in total darkness. Notwithstanding that, there is a risk of hermie when you mess with the lighting, but it's probably small for 20 minutes one time. You may want to do it right before the light cycle starts, or immediately after it ends, instead of in the middle of a light cycle. That would be less shocking.

careful with that bulb not to touch it with your skin and its going to take 20 mins just to cool down isn't it?

yeah I would give it 20 mins just to cool off. Also, if you wear latex gloves you won't get the oils from your skin on the bulb.

o and dont put the bulb on the ground and stand on it i'v got scars from the stiches

since the topic has been raised, what is the best solution to use to clean a bulb? Plain water, windex, soapy water?

while we're on THAT topic, not to hijack the thread but anyone have tips on cleaning a taller bong? i know about alcohol and rice. is that the best i can do tho? cuz theres one shitty area in the bottom where the water line is. just thought id throw that out there cuz i smokin out of the bong as im typing. lol

omg... seriously.. to stop the plant for 10 mins for your bulb to cool down.. wont do shit..



just keep it on full tilt and get a spray bottle and spray it all over, that cleans it well, a good cleaning will cost like 30+ bucks i bet

Lemme make sure I understand what you are suggesting, "keep it on full tilt and...spray it all over..." Ummm, are you saying to spray the light while it's on, because that is pretty dangerous...and if that is what you are suggesting I'm going to have to -rep you.
