Gee,
Thanks for the comment. Sure, it is seedless. What exactly do you mean when discussing "phenos " and "genetics" and how can this information be used when cloning?
For example, say out of planting 10 seeds, 10 females are born. How can the grower tell which plant is best to clone, prior to harvesting, curing and testing? The plant is gone by the testing phase. Clone all the plants in the batch as if in a controlled study?
Are you implying some seed packs will be better than others even from the same manufacture? Or is it all determined by exact plant and a crap shoot every time?
The only way to maintain order is to rely on the manufactures product description and timing recommendations.
Maybe I should just give up on this strain and try another strain??
I've only really started to try and get some top genetics myself , before hand I just grew out a couple of seeds.
However this time round I bought 20 barneys Acapulco gold, and germed them all , and the variations where very obvious. Which lead me to the path of picking what would be the best genetics.
Ideally if I could have I would have took cuttings off them all and kept them all , however just didnt want all that many plants , as I always like to take 3-4 cutting from a plant at a time incase something goes wrong.
So I had to select the best ones, prior to ever flowering the strain which was hard, so I looked for plants that had loads off root growth, vigourouse plant growth, nice thick stem's, and close internode spacing. Also there was one in particular that smelled very skunky while in veg , which is always a good sign imo^^
From this tho I selected 4 viable mothers.
Mother 1 - very strong grower , with the tightest internodes you could imagine , this is the smelly bitch I was talking about earlier.
Mother 2 - Has such vigourouse growth .
Mother 3 - Average
Mother 4 - very sqwaty indica pheno compared to the rest, and fat ass budd's at week 5 , not to mention some weird leaves with bud growing out them .
So I'll need to take this all into account , but still need to wait till I harvested/cured the stuff so I can compare yield/taste etc.
From this I will get the ideal genetics I want.
If this all goes acording to plan the idea is say you flower 20 fresh seeds , the genetics can vary , so yield per plant can vary, lets just say those 20 seeds once flowered harvested you 1 lbs.
As I said yield per plant varied, but the best plant that you took cutting off of for your mother yielded you 2 ounce. The idea would be if you put 20 cutting of that plant in the same room with same conditions you would expect to achieve something closer to 2 pounds instead of a pound..
Thats the theory anyway.
