How to handle the white powdery mildew ?

It's just the hatch from the few I buds I missed. Half season without the greenhouse. Too many gypsy moths this year. I've found 2 in the last week. Not worried. Had a good size soldier bug hatch a week ago. They are everywhere. Critters should be covered.
PS... 5000cfm fan does quick work of them as well. Ha Ha.

Bud rot and powdery mildew are two very different things. Not sure why your having this issue, but I gave you honest good info on what worked for me. Something else must be going on. I have also read that powdery mildew has different strains, and that can be polymorphic, that is developing a resistance to each treatment it gets, it will knock it down, but then come back stronger and smarter. Perhaps you have a very aggressive strain. Sorry, gave you the best intel I had.
All good i did what I could do today one plant pretty sure is 70% garbage it happened so fast 2 days ago they looked fine then last night when was spraying apple cider vinegar i found the bud rot all my plants have it my 2 is plants ifound just2 small buds that had it i cut those off then my 2 smaller ones that look and smell so strong ive found 3 to 4 buds on each plant that had bud rot im not spraying anything tonight tomorrow gonna ask a buddy to check them for me and tell me what I should do he runs a hydroponics and soils grow store hopefully he can help

I just buy the hydrogen peroxide at the drug store. Same area as the rubbing alcohol.
I've been trying to find it in my area for a month. Usually $1.00 a quart. None anywhere. Shelves are empty. Think it has to do with Covid or everyone is using it on their weed. Legal state.

I have been spraying mine with potassium bicarbonate which is apparently a fungicide.

You have to be so careful, as soon as you remove that powdery mildew by hand you must immediately put it in a ziploc. Imagine a trillion spores on that little section of leaf. If you touch another plant... Disaster. Wash your hands. My pumpkin vines had it one time and simply by watering with the boss then watering my plants I transferred it into my garden. You gotta be real careful, some people wash their clothes even. And rot spreads even faster, has buku spores that will wreck everything.

always be careful with mold and rot. Never smoke anything contaminated. It could change your.ljfe. Trust me I know.

Just thought someone should point out the necessity of treating all the decorative and produce plants in your yard for the entire growing season. I believe mine started in my cukes.

Remove leaves and plants while wet. With minimum agitation.

Couple pretty scary things going on here in this thread.

1) PM does NOT wash off.
Spraying milk/baking soda/greencure etc is to prevent more PM (or other molds) from growing. Once PM is visible on any plant material it needs to be thrown away. Sure it sucks but its part of the game.

2) as some others mentioned, never use neem oil in flower. Sure some swear by it but more and more research is pointing to it being very harmful. (Remember, asbestos was ‘safe’ at one time)

3) post harvest washes do NOT remove PM either!! Post harvest wash is only to remove dirt and bugs and maybe as an extra safeguard when PM is NOT visible.

Stay safe friends

Craigson, so please be clear, you are saying that ANY POWDERY MILDEW, no matter the size of infestation, the entire plant should be destroyed and there is no way to treat, clean, or remove PM in any way? Contrary to professional opinion such as Jose Cervantes and many others.

I am a student of this culture, and do not doubt you, many things I have learned in this site for the first time. However, I would like to know the basis of your theory, or fact, please educate me, and I say this with the utmost respect, and not to be facetious.

Please, teach me more.

Just an FYI. I swore by neem for a decade. Changing my opinion on its safety very fast with developments in its study. I personally would avoid it in flower. Just saying research your products. Times change and science is looking really close at our industry "hobby" for the next billion dollar gimmic. We are getting better research and being forced to re think our views. Peace, organics and health always.
Good to know! Thank you for the information! I'm very green to growing as well!

Want to know what I can do to get rid of and prevent the white powdery mildew ! Thanks !
Calcium + Amino Acids
The Amino Acids open Calcium channels . The Calcium make the cells on the leaves smaller . You want small cells . Also the liquids inside the cells get more sugar which the white powdery mildew is not after . The mildew want the water . Also the Calcium make the leaves thicker and makes it much harder for the white powder mildew to poke their tubes into the cells and the mildew dies if it fails to inject spores or whatever it is they inject to try to take over the whole plant ,

Calcium and amino acids into the soil or nutrient solution to the roots , not as a foliar spray .
