I am sure this sounds super dumb but how the hell do i PH my water when 1 1/2 tbs of molasses turned my water dark dark brown?

I don't have a digi ph meter either. I use the drops, but hopefully not for too much longer. I have heard that 1-2 TBSP per gallon of molasses drop your ph 2-4 ph. So factor that into your ph prior to adding your molasses. But this is just what I've heard so..

are you mixing 1 gallon at a time? what is the ph of your water without the molasses? my water is ph8 if i put in 1 tbs bsm its now 6.8. if that helps any just make an educated guess, remember the lower the ph the more ph down it takes to lower it. ie half a tsp will lower my 8 to 7 but add another half and it only goes to 6.5 not the 6 you would think.

This post is over 12 years old but the wisdom you provided just helped me in 2022. Thanks Johnny for the insight!
