Honestly, I haven't gotten that far along in my grow to know if they terminate completely. The plants are doing really well with them.

I admit that I haven't read this thread post to post, but pots that use air pruning to terminate root tips should work, IF, and this is a big if, the ambient RH is fairly low. FWIW, copper hydroxide painted pots is foolproof. It always works.

Not to sound like a noob, but I assume you mean ambient "relative humidity"? I bet I'm outside the range you speak of. Right this second it's right at 50%. It's usually about 60%. After a watering it gets up into the 70's before coming back down. I let the soil get fairly dry.....but not dry. I've read a bunch of your work, like your sticky on moisture stress. I "think" I'm seeing evidence that letting the roots gets O2 is a good thing. It's tough to tell unless it's a controlled experiment.

Yeah, relative humidity. Like in aeroponics, the root tip termination won't happen if the garden's ambient RH is high. I thought the purpose of Smart Pots was to increase root mass via root tip termination. Are you using them to increase O2? You don't need to. Here's a photo of a large plant in a 3 gallon pot, soil top to bottom, no special treatment.

A little of both actually. Hmmmm, more hype maybe? They sure seem to like those pots. Maybe I just learned enough from my last grow that it's going that much better? I dunno. I'll post my results as I move forward. As you can tell, I'm fairly new. My real purpose for using them bottom line is to increase root mass and increase growth.

Scientific studies for what? Were simply speculating. were not declaring anything, the only one saying they know everything about plants and the moon is you.
I read a lot of what you write UB and I have the most respect for you, but when ppl can't even speculate over new ideas without you trying to squash what they have to say, then the arrogance of your biased contempt becomes quite obnoxious. I don't see you challenging riddlemes experiments with IR or making it rain, and these were born from the effect of rain and sunrise/sunset, why is the moon such a far stretch?

I haven't seen a "great thing" come out of this biz, ever, and I've been posting and involved in cannabis forums for at least 15 years. Quite the contrary, I have seen hundreds of lame cannabis forums pop up, hundreds of seed banks selling the same old crap while calling it something different than the one before, hundreds of snake oils and bullshit vendors.

Not for a lack of great things, but an inability to see them.
I truly feel sorry for you. I think there's a lot of brilliant ideas, there necessity isn't the determining factor of wether it is great or not.
For example, you CAN clone in a cup of water in a windowsill, that doesn't make aero cloners worthless, or mean they are not a great tool. I don't use one, and I have one.

I found the more time I dedicated to gaining knowledge the better grower I became. I can remember spending hours upon hours reading through forums, google searching, re-reading information to make sure I remembered it, watching videos, asking questions, and it was all worth while.
I prefer to master a few things rather than just be ok at a lot of things. To all the new growers out there, trust me - I understand it can become frustrating at times but remember nothing in life that is worth having comes easy, and the skills to become a great cultivator of cannabis falls into that category.
