how to set up a very small water pump

i'm not quite sure what you mean? for submersible pumps, you just toss it in the water and plug it in.

just a pump that will water my plant everyday.

put the pump in the water(if it's submersible). attach the output to a hose that hooks up to your feeding system. then plug the pump into a timer and set the timer.
