how to set up journel

Hi. I am new to this site . I thought if I started a journel I could learn a few things about working around the site. Problem is, I can't get started . I can't find "Journel settings." to get started. Also, I can't work out how to get pics from my computer into a folder, or anywhere else. Maybe I am to new to be allowed to do that yet? or don't have the correct page. Honestly I am not very skilled at this stuff so maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I think I have an OK grow with pics to share.

At the very top of the page you will see
Rollitup maps, whats new, articles, forum, grow journals, seeds ,live chat, arcade

Click Grow Journals it will bring you to a page, on the right hand side it will say "Create new Post" From there you can add a new journal, sometimes journals don't show up for the first bit because of your new status , so be active on the forum, and try to post some more in areas, that isn't spam , you will also receive your Private messaging rights as well

To post photos in your chat box, you will see a tool bar, on the last tool bar you see a globe with an X in it a Picture frame and a Video frame, click the picture frame from there you will be prompted to "select Files" from your computer. Add your photos and click Upload

Hmm. How long does it take to get to journaling status??? I've been an active reader for a month or so but just signed up for an account to start posting a journal. I still can't create a post under the journal section. :-( Was hoping to U/L some pics soon. Ah well.. Maybe time will tell. If anyone does know HOW LONG it takes before one can get to post a journal let me know.

you need to be an active member, try posting a bit, here and there it isnt just about reading its participation in the forums, we cannot tell you exact numbers because if we did than spammers would have access to this information.

That's always been the problem with me. Always the lurker... AKA the quiet one... Good listener... I read just about every FAQ before asking my question about starting a journal too. :-)

I usually don't have much to add when it comes to learning something new... and quite honestly I'd rather not ask a foolish "Newbie" question and look silly when it can be found by reading the forums themselves.

As this is my first grow I thought it would be neat to capture it up here in pictures and notes as I see quite a few have done. Reading the various feedback has helped me learn from others pitfalls etc and what does work.

I know everyone has their own style of growing. I plan on having a pretty laid back grow but one WELL MONITORED. I'll be doing it inexpensively (bag seed, painted white closet, CFLs etc.) but with a reasonable amount of research I think I can give it a good shot.

Thanks again! I look forward to some more good reads later this evening!

just fyi, the Grow Journals tab at the top of the page (rollitup.org/blogs) is completely separate from the grow journal subforum on the main page (rollitup.org/grow-journals) -- you should be able to start a journal in the subforum immediately, and you'll probably get more traffic/comments there too.
