How well are you liked VS. how much you like others

I have been here for awhile and I remember when the like system was introduced.

I noticed how some people 'liked' almost everything they clicked on, and that made me wonder - what is the point of liking posts if you like EVERYTHING you see?

That got me to thinking back to my business statistics class. A simple number will let everyone know:

Number of likes received / Number of likes given

Mine is :

Likes received 510 / Likes given 161 = 3.1677

What's yours?

I dunno. I get a good amount of likes here but my threads never get that much traffic. I feel loved

Likes per post does seem like the best measure. Great idea for a thread...
Not sure where I stand relatively speaking, but I'm at .374 likes/per post.
183 given, 150 received so .824 I tend to "like" most posts that are useful/relevant/funny...

interesting. I tend to use likes as just agreeing with, or actually just really enjoying what someone wrote.

as if to say "I agree, this is my opinion too"

or "that shit is fuuuuu-nnnnyyy!"

I'm here because I pretty much like a lot of these people. They are funny and kind and interesting for the most part. So I give a lot of likes :)

I love the warm feeling when I get a like and I hope when I like someone's posts they get that same warm feeling :)

I use them quite often to say hello to new members & give them a bit of positive feedback.

Numbers are nothing but that, numbers. Are you touching peoples hearts positively, are you receiving the same from others? If not, prolly oughta leave the board simple as that.
