How would raising taxes affect you and our economy?

but seriously, it would help reduce the enormous and dangerous income inequality situation to more sustainable levels, helping to even the playing field and make it more possible for the little guys to team up against the big guy.
On your chalk board! Yet, once those money grubbers see a hint of daylight they spend it before they get it. Not helping the little business or the guy who wants to start a small business. NO, they tax and lay levy on him in the form of permits or a "special trashcan" to throw out bud trimmings because some dofous threw it into a Hazmat classification. Mean while as that money rolls in they stand up and say oooh ooooh I want it for my pet project in the Balkans or wherever. Then if we follow the money we (the people) see it is for a business that he or she (a money grubbing paid off official who is on an oversight committee) Channels it through. The folks on the hill really believe that you have the same opportunities they do... They (on the hill or in charge) do not take into consideration that they have money, or come from a money back ground, or have connections to get their stuff to the front of the line.
So I disagree with the overall; "Give our money to someone to redistribute it" thinking. Less Govt is better! Because if you put your pants on, one leg at a time, chances are you are capable of lying or otherwise. And those getting the job to redistribute put their pants or pantsuits on, one leg at a time.
Peace~

Well you idea of Govt is absolute power and too trust them. Obviously there are parts that need to be governed yet that does not discount the fact that the ones governing are crooks! Hence less govt ='s less crooks overseeing the little people.

That is where you are confused, you think the rich are governed. The rich have lobbyists so they are exempt. The rich can afford a real lawyer that is why they have patents and walk away from what you and I would burn at the stake for.
The laws that have been passed, in the last hundred plus years, are laws to protect the richest in the country; as they do not like when a Bill Gates or a Mark Zuckerburg comes along. That kind of money is powerful money. Why do you think Obummer ran over to Mark Z's after realizing the wealth of this guy? For some advice on how to run the country? C'mon set down the bong and get some exercise you are oxidizing if you think that. I am sure you will find a coloring book or picture to give a sophos reply, Yet, that does not change the fact that govt is not installed to help the poor/middle class. It is there to keep us out of their way. Why do you think any Dictator Governs? To make things even steven? No! It is to rule you. You still believe that the ones you vote in, because they wear a Dem moniker are on your team....I always say vote for the man not the party!

i see english is not your strong suit. neither is your ESP. nice strawboy though.

you know the same crooks in washington are the same crooks involved in mega corporations, right? and that if left to their devices, those mega corps would destroy the little guy without a second thought or consequence, right?

no shit, sherlock. you must have missed the dozens of times i have railed against the growing income inequality gap that makes this possible.

When you charge businesses more to make stuff and charge them more to have employees, they won't make as much stuff (GDP), or hire as many people (Employment).

I broke it down to a third grade reading level for ya.

This whole notion that income equality can be fixed by taxing the rich is absolute bullshit brought upon by politicians pandering to fools.

When the federal government takes our money, it goes towards more government, it doesn't funnel down to the working class like they lead on, it also keeps the poor down and keeps them poor.

The only way to rise above poverty is to get a viable education, work hard, save your money and invest it wisely. Why is it we don't hear the upper middle class whining about the rich?
Many of us lack the skill or breaks or don't want to sacrifice our lives to become rich, we are perfectly fine being comfortable. Should others who choose not to get a better education or work hard, save and invest be taken care by the rest of us who do?
