HPA Nutrient Suggestion and Schedules

Hey All, New here, and to growing cannabis... and to aeroponics, but i'm having a blast. My first set-up is working pretty well - I've got what I would say is a typical set-up (Aquatec, accumulator, Tefen Nozzles, Cycle Timer...) and have been using advanced nutrients pH perfect Bloom, Micro, and Grow, along with some CalMag. Its working well, but in the future I''m hoping to simplify / economize my nutrients. I like the idea of using a water soluble nutrient (Like Jacks, or MaxiBloom) but am wondering what nutrients and schedules people are having success with... I know there's lots of homebrew going on, but I'll be honest, i'm just not up to it.

Most of us will tell you to first stop buying Advanced. They're a fucking ripoff and to use jacks 3-2-1, MegaCrop, or my recommendation General Hydroponics FloraTrio Micro, Gro, & Bloom with CaliMagic.

Not bad looking bud for first time. But it doesn't look like it yields much. Or maybe it's just really small or didn't receive adequate nutrients I don't know.

Yeah - I'll be honest, I'm not super pleased with the Advanced packaging. The product seems to be working well enough, but the lids suck... and that annoys me because its not the cheapest product out there. Trying to find Jacks 3-2-1 here in Canada isn't easy, otherwise it's probably where i'm leaning. That means I'll probably end up running the GH line... although based on my first grow I'll have enough of the AN "Grow" to last for quite a few more grows.

I'm pretty happy with the fact that 'm getting anything from the plant! It's a Super Cali Haze Auto that i seriously stunted and is pretty nutrient sensitive... at least compared to the AK-47 x Critical Mass "Auto" that is currently refusing to flower... talk about disappointing genetics - but that's another story.

Starting out with hpa is advantageous. Most people start in dirt, work there way into hydro, lots go to coco. Lpa and Hpa is usually later. Good luck.

Thanks! I've also got some ladies outside in dirt, but when the bug bit it was waaaaay to cold here to get growing outdoors. Plus there are so may benefits to being indoors and I really like the more "Scientific" (or at least feeling scientific) approach that comes with HPA.

EBay has jacks packages with everything you need. All sorts of different amounts for so many gals.

After some research - it seems like MegaCrop might just be the easiest thing to get in Canada... 22lbs seems like a forever supply, so I guess it better be good!

I do NOT recommend it for hydro applications. It has organics in it, which promote bacterial growth. Stick to salts or some other option like GH Flora that has no organic anything in it.

Whoops - I guess a second round of searching for jacks is required... I missed that there were organics in it, and agree that i'd rather keep everything clean. I will say I'll probably give the MegaCrop a try if I every get a second space going... I've pretty well got what i need except, well... space. If all else fails I'll probably go with the GH.
